I am also going to an accupuncturist, chiropractor, and take an occasional diuretic.
I would LoVe to be able to share an alternative treatment which has worked like MaGiC for my dad he has been "attack free" for years and years now - I was diagnosed with this Dis.....ease just over a year ago and also take this, I too feel better and better as each week goes by - HIghly recommend taking Ginkgo Biloba extract....
I also recommend reading the book or watching the movie - You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay :)))))) Enjoy :)))))

i have Oregon medical marijuana i have been on it and only it for 2 years now its only thing that helps me. i don't have to take all that crap . it really does help. don't be ignorant to it .
The medication the guy takes in the video really works well. For the people who are experiencing the effects I feel for you. I'm still diagnosed with it, but havent had symptons in yrs, I had the disease for about 15yrs now. I take the meds that this guy takes plus betahistine hydraclorizide 25mgs it works amazing. Get to an ENT asap. The diziness is hell get the pills they will work.

I THINK I HAVE SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO SAY to all those suffering Meniere's disease... I am 50 now and I have it since I was 12, I was not properly diagnosed until I was 25 and it's been some years since it got worse... I absolutely recommend Betahistine as it is the only drug that has helped me a lot on the last years; I am totally sure it is the only thing that keeps me from being disabled...
How did the symptoms start out for you? My neuro-otologist believes it's what I have. I have had symptoms since I was in the 8th grade, about 12 as well. I am now 22. I'm so scared because I have the typical symptoms of Meniere's but have not yet experienced the vertigo yet...and I'm scared it's coming soon.
@alexmottram07 Hi, I hav MS since 2008, with 3 severe episodes taht yr, each lasting for 5hr. Another bouts of attacks recurred this yr. (4x). Have been on betahistine ever since, up to 16mg tds (tid). This yr I m taking 24mg bd (2x/d). I m also taking mecobalamin, but no diuretics. I find that the vertigo attacks will just come & ago without any relationship to the drugs I am taking! I have even stopped taking Betahistine for as long as 2 mth, without getting any single attack.

I have had it for 10 years, attacks are quiescent now and have been for 3 years, but the tinnitus and fullness has returned and hearing loss js so bad i need a hearing aid. but i am a musician. this is not acceptable.
i wonder if it is stress related, at least in my case. i stil have much stress from a cult i left years ago. do you have any thoughts? it is the deafness i am concerned about now

The tablet that you mention is called Cinnarizine (STUGERON) and there's NO guarantee that this will stop attacks of cronic vertigo! In fact, no tablet guarantee's zero vertigo otherwise that would be classed as a cure for Menieres which we all know there's NO cure! Best treatment to control vertigo is Gentamicin Injections.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I HAVE THIS DISEASE AND I FOUND A WONDERFUL TRICK TO BEAT THE VERTIGO AND ITS OVER THE COUNTER. Go to your local pharmacy and purchase meclizine. it comes in a chewable tablet or pill form. The chewable works faster. It is used for travel sickness. It goes to the inner ear and equals you out. Please trust my judgment. This stuff really works. If you are having bad vertigo your can take 2. Please try it, it works for me.
Meclizine's an antihistamine. I'd suggest you get a prescription for it though. Much cheaper that way. About 4 bucks for 100, vs. 15.00 for 20 OTC.
I take 4 of them everyday, as well as 8 of the Equate's James talked about for night time. Dimenhydrinate 50mg. Plus 5 mg ativan.
I take Valium for the severe attacks (thank god, only 3 times so far). Valium helps kick the attack down to about a day and half or so. Rest of the time, it's like walking on a boat packed with ringing telephones.

Once I ate an entire bag of marshmallows and drank 3 cups of strong coffee, then I laid down on a spinning merry-go-round at the playground on a hot humid day.
I suffer menears . I use to intake alot of salt in my food, overweight for my small size, did not drink water. I began a strict no salt diet, no can foods or frozen foods. Only fresh produce, no milk or cheese. No soda, coffee,sugar or oils. No fried foods only broil or barbecue.
Within a month , I was out of my bed for the first time in 7 months and within 7 more months following this diet I was able to go to work again. I hope this helps someone.

Benadryl is a sedating antihistamine, Maybe you can ask your physcian about Non Sedating Antihistamies, won't make you sleepy. You mentioned Claritin, which is a non sedating antihistamine but You also take benadryl. Sounds like to many histamine blockers but Your doc knows best.
I take the Benadryl so I can sleep at night and for some strange reasons the antihistamines help relieve the vertigo from the Meniere's along with the diuretic. Also, when I go to bed it keeps me from feeling like I'm spinning... My doctor said it was alright for me to take it and he stated "whatever worked best for ya." I know it sounds like a lot of antihistamines, but it sure has help me out a lot!
