Red Sox claimed RHP Virgil Vasquez off waivers from the Tigers.

Vasquez served three stints with the Tigers in 2007, going 0-1 with an 8.64 ERA in three starts and two relief appearances. He was supposed to be one of the team's first alternatives going into 2008, but he got off to an awful start in Triple-A and never really impressed at any point. He ended up 12-12 with a 4.81 ERA, 179 H and 115/37 K/BB in 159 IP. Vasquez has a nice slider and above average command, but his fastball is subpar

they play the old tiger theme on WXYT during the beginning and if the tigers win they play this song. Since its the offseason, i dont remember if they play it regardless or not at the end of the game, but i am sure they play it if they win.
