Why is it that you can use any Visa/Mastercard be it a debit or credit card. But if you have money in your Pay pal account. That money can't be put onto your card you signed up with. If it isn't a pay pal issued credit card. I've been fighting with them from a week due to an emergency to release money from my account on to my debit card but they will not do so. That is not legal. Also a customer service rep refused to let me talk to a supervisor.

They also lie to you that they only need such info for "verification purposes". Yet, if you disable Direct Debit on your bank acct *after* it's been verified with PayPal, your PayPal account goes back to being "unverified". This proves that it's not about "verification" but direct access, yet you failed to take that into account out of your sheer ignorance. =)

SOLUTION: Call up your bank if you have a limited paypal account/negative balance and tell them to block all transfer from PAYPAL either to or from and they will not be able to take any money from your account after that.

Anyone who buys with paypal can just complain, even if you did nothing wrong and sent the item sold, and that one complaint entered from a webform will reverse the transaction. The fraud buyer can even wait until the item arrives to complain and steal that money back.

One of the phone operators at 6:24 gives the reason why Paypal won't close his account. Obviously he has done something wrong through Paypal, probably several disputes with buyers, and they won't close it preventing him from being another paypal member through another account that he opens up with them.

this guy was possibly caught opening several accounts which is not in accordance with PayPal Acceptable Use Policy (using PayPal for gambling or other activities which violates the AUP) he wants to close down his account so PayPal will not have access to his financial details unfortunately PayPal cannot do that if he has several disputes from his buyers. His account definitely has issues because if it doesn't, he can just close it down anytime he wishes.
Paypal took over $300 dollars out of my account after it was closed for over a year and a half, and they cannot give me any reason for it. I am going to the state attorney general right now.

Ebay should not have a policy to give themselves access to a persons checking account, or retaining that information in their databases and refusing to remove that portion of the information.

Paypal fucked me aswell like 1 year ago, i knew my bank manager i changed my date of birth, then sent a letter to paypal, then now i opened a fresh new paypal account, and i confirmed it.

there are a number of cases in which paypal has locked accounts and then unfrozen the accounts months later and portions of the balance were missing. Pay pal has no explanation. The explanation is the financial info/ balance you share is used as collateral in which pay pal can use for buying stock shares(similar to a bank) to make money. The missing money of course is used for dubious 'service fees'. keep in mind Pay pal is a private entity, not a bank
I had the same experience. With Ebay Seller fees being auto debited and no way to stop it. I had to close my checking account to stop it. Fuck Paypal. I believe they are a mob. And taking over the internet.

@akangell Except they keep your bank account info (for 3 to 7 years), even if you closed your account and did not break any policies. They also lie to you that they only need such info for "verification purposes". Yet, if you disable Direct Debit on your bank acct *after* it's been verified with PayPal, your PayPal account goes back to being "unverified". This proves that it's not about "verification" but direct access, yet you failed to take that into account out of your sheer ignorance. =)

I have encountered the exact situation yesterday when I have transfered 1000 pounds from y paypal acc. got reversed this morning with NO GIVEN REASON. They freeze my account AFTER I have done the transfer!!! I have made a call and what I got back from them was EXACTLY the same response from them. Here's the Paypal modus operandi:
1. You open a Paypal account to accept payments on eBay or your website.
2. Everything goes fine for a while
3. Paypal suddenly freezes your account and demands a ridiculous laundry list of documents they know you don't have.
4. Paypal keeps the money when you can't provide those documents
They have stolen millions of dollars using this tactic. Paypal is nothing but a criminal organization and everyone in the company should be serving time in prison.

I just got robbed by Paypal today! This DEADBEAT loser (ebay name stkwireless) bought not one but TWO 32" flatscreen televisions from me. AFTER I shipped them out he emails me saying, "I ordered the wrong model...sorry about that! I'm just going to refuse the delivery." I told him sorry, but I do not accept returns, as stated in my eBay ad. That motherfucker refused the packages so I was charged not only for the original shipping but the return shipping as well! $154 and Paypal backed him!

I don't know why, but if you have already have a bank account, then you really don't need PayPal. I would avoid buying anything online that only accept PayPal. PayPal is the middleman between you and your bank, and they tell you how you can get your money. Furthermore, eBay is not a place to make money. eBay is a place for betting, similar to Gambling. You have to lose money by selling to see how how much you will get in return, not how much money make.

SOLUTION: Call up your bank if you have a limited paypal account/negative balance and tell them to block all transfer from PAYPAL either to or from and they will not be able to take any money from your account after that.

Anyone who buys with paypal can just complain, even if you did nothing wrong and sent the item sold, and that one complaint entered from a webform will reverse the transaction. The fraud buyer can even wait until the item arrives to complain and steal that money back.
Plus, this guy's incredibly right about everything. It's shocking. If he wants to terminate the contract he should be able to. Paypal can't hold his account open forever.

One of the phone operators at 6:24 gives the reason why Paypal won't close his account. Obviously he has done something wrong through Paypal, probably several disputes with buyers, and they won't close it preventing him from being another paypal member through another account that he opens up with them.

this guy was possibly caught opening several accounts which is not in accordance with PayPal Acceptable Use Policy (using PayPal for gambling or other activities which violates the AUP) he wants to close down his account so PayPal will not have access to his financial details unfortunately PayPal cannot do that if he has several disputes from his buyers. His account definitely has issues because if it doesn't, he can just close it down anytime he wishes.

I now record all my phone calls to customer services due to how big the problem is with companies. This Parkel sounds like a crook. I am glad Ebay, Inc. keeps information about these folks to keep them from creating new accounts once banned.
Ebay should not have a policy to give themselves access to a persons checking account, or retaining that information in their databases and refusing to remove that portion of the information.

dood you obvioulsy dont understand the point of the phone call... he is stating a point that paypal have authorisation to take money out at any time without the users consent basically making a point that you are not protected under anylaws.

I got ripped off from paypal. They bounced my account a few times, and it wound up going over 200 dollars. If I would have known now what I know then I wouldn't have bothered.

there are a number of cases in which paypal has locked accounts and then unfrozen the accounts months later and portions of the balance were missing. Pay pal has no explanation. The explanation is the financial info/ balance you share is used as collateral in which pay pal can use for buying stock shares(similar to a bank) to make money. The missing money of course is used for dubious 'service fees'. keep in mind Pay pal is a private entity, not a bank

I had the same experience. With Ebay Seller fees being auto debited and no way to stop it. I had to close my checking account to stop it. Fuck Paypal. I believe they are a mob. And taking over the internet.

Surely he really needs to close his bank (checking) account and open another one.
I appreciate that that may be difficult if customers have that account number but I cannot see any other way out.

Paypal is garbage. They use b.s. reasons to hold your money so that they can make money from the interest it garners them. Use them and you will see what it is like, I can guarantee this will happen to you eventually.

I really feel for these people. Before a recent incident that occured using Paypal, I thought they were a great company. Trying to resolve issues with them is near impossible and you just get the run around. I will not be dealing with this organization again and I would warn anyone against it.

I had to ring several countries - UK, Ireland, USA and India using three different languages - English, Spanish and Polish.
In the end I gave the matter to the FSA in the UK and the money was passed on quickly after that.

Remember, this guy violated the acceptable use policy for PayPal. For all you know he could have a video collection worse than Michael Jackson and is attempting to sell them to other freaks using PayPal. Now do you really want this guy to be able to have access to this PayPal account or create a new PayPal account to continue his unauthorized activity? This guy deserves everything he's received. Good luck getting your funds back after 180 days.

Well yeah, that makes more sense to me. If this seller violated the agreement by selling counterfeit items or anything else, defrauding buyers, He shouldn't have access to his money. Buyers should have a protection to get their money back.
