Pros: They've made the countdown end on dead on 0.

Cons: Losing 24 was unnecessary. Making mocks is gonna be in trickier as the countdown sequence has changed. How much has this cost the licence payer?

The countdown clips didn't change much, probably one of two new clips. The theme used in the countdown is quite similar to one they used in 2005(6).

The graphics are quite good except that you can hardly see the numbers for News at "10"etc.

The only major changes are the countdown ending, which is IMO great, new anchors, and studios.

573W1E6R1FF1N , regarding the main countdown beeps, I just counted it and it has 11 beeps similar to the one the used last year. What's different here is the added titles and that messes up the main countdown beeps.

I think somemone is just "lazy"to change it.

Cant the countdown like cut out at around 2/3 and then the swirling globe then be shown.

The 60 second countdown I saw later that day was cool. The graphics on the BBC News @ 1, BBC News @ 6 and BBC News @ 10 reminds me of how they were in June 1999 with the place names before it changed to the Black and Red graphics in 2003. Great to see that the dance music beat is still used after 9 years :-D

i think this is so cool, it is way better than the old one, the first time a saw it i was wunderin why it done the 10 second countdown was at 7 but i think it is cool when he bbc logo and the world zoom up to the screen!

it is like going backward, with the wave like theme, and the lost of glossy feel

and not a good idea to mix white together with red is it? black and red is a perfect match! why change it??

and the most horrible thing is, the graphic don't even match the music!
