Its the way of singing... we don't sing on 'F's'... we sing on vowels... lieeeefe... she has the F at the end but its quiet, and the as a its how she says as... sometimes we do the same thing in everyday speaking...She hiccups.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Aida and Adam...but I agree, when I first saw this on Broadway, I thought the very same thing. I actually didn't start liking Adam until I heard him sing the song that he wrote for his wife Cybele back in 2007. And then I saw him in the movie version of "Rent" and thought his voice fit perfectly.

As powerful as Adam's voice is, and as talented with range and tone as he obviously is, he sometimes sounds too American for the part, so to speak. A little too rockish. Even if it's a rock musical, the Southern rasp can get bothersome.
