I picked a few PS dist in Zellers in the past few years. The cheapest for 15.00 new. All of the PS line was discontinued. I saw one the other day but they wanted $40.00cnd.
cool pedal. i wish it had the star child's makeup face on it. like a big paul stanley graphic of his face instead of only a big star graphic. then this pedal would be mega awesome. i heard they only made like 3,000 or less of these pedals. It's gonna go down in Kisstory...
I'll go up to $100 USD shipped if anybody has one of these Paul Stanley pedals for sale. I can't find one ANYWHERE. Please message me if you've got one mint in the original box. Thanks!
I've played through a lot of 800's. All were different. All had that "open roar" they are known for however.
I like the PS distortion because I can get a great 800 tone if I keep the Gain down and the level all the way up. The Tone and Contour controls let you add some bite. 800s and 900s are known to have a lot of high end and Paul's tone is certainly full of high end grit. This pedal can get you there for a bargain price.
Just an FYI..This is the same exact pedal as the Washburn "Soloist Distortion" which can be found on Ebay for around $20.00 USD..It's also been released under the Artec line as the "Soloist Distortion"...P.S. I Love this pedal under.. any name.
The pedal sounds surprisingly good (never thought of Paul Stanely as a "tone-meister"). Very cool demo, I was curious as to how the pedal sounded. Rock on man!!
Thanks for the comments FZ! The PS Distortion is a very nice pedal and pops up on ebay for $25 or so. It has JCM-like crunch and nice top-end edge. The secret to good pedal tone is to start with good amp tone without any large bumps in the EQ. A clean amp or one just on the verge of overdrive is required to get the most out of any pedal. Some try to layer distortion on top of distortion, and this always results in lack of clarity. Lowering the guitar volume gets rid of mud too. Rock on!

So in the description you say "It really has that JCM800 thing going on." So do you use a JCM800 marshall?

@lacytim
I noticed the Solist Distortion has the same controls but I wasn't sure it was voiced the same.
