Yeh but the only tiles I have are very thick ones (like for the meffert's minx, but for 3x's) so when I put the tiles on it cant turn because the tiles blok the edges from turning :D

well yes it works as an edges only cube, Im planning how I gonna make the extended part so you can twist it

get a longer screw and make the center cap of the 'stub' come off, and put the screw in there? depends how in depth you want to go... you could extend the sides of another center piece and make it the size of that stub and do the spring like that maybe. but that would require putting a pretty big hole in the original center piece's cap.
