when i do the very first step (putting velocity on the amp) i don't get an 'interrupted' sound (sorry for my poor english), but only a constant sound... what is wrong?
I succeeded in ALMOST making this sound... I got the click of the kick (the punch at the start of the sound), but I couldn't get the low 'thud' that comes afterward... By the life of me I don't understand why, I copied the exact process, changed the notes... nothing. I'm stumped.
@TheRealRunner if you look under the amplitude pot at the top right, you will see envelope 4 is the amp mod, you can change it to whatever you want though. Env 1 2 3 as default are not linked to the amp pot.
Hi! I cant understand, why there are some sound changes when you're editing parameters for envelopes 2,3,4,5. As I can see you 've connected only first envelope for frequency modulation! Why other are working?
Firstly you should connect you midi keyboard to massive input( I know how to do it in Cubase/Nuendo), and then press any key on it.If you dont have the real keyboard you should use virtual keyboard in your host program.
Yeah its a kick. Sounds about 20 years old though. Needs a much faster envelope to give it that punchy sound. I would use a synth like zeta where you can apply the same envelope to a destination multiple times, making the envelopes MUCH more aggressive sounding
this is a "how to make a kick tutorial", not a ... "how to make the best kick" ... it should give ideas to create own sounds ... and ... a good transient plugin fix this soft punch problem (belive me) ;-)
nice, i didn't realise you could make a bass drum sound by making the pitch spike up and fall like that. So that's why they say you have to pitch your drums, cos the drum sound substains at a constant pitch like that :) thanks for the vid

Someone explain the envelopes to me. 4 seems to apply to everything, so what do the other 3 do?

Question
Does Envelope 4 work as a general envelope? As in, all the remaining three will be affected by it?
TheRealRunner 1 year ago
@TheRealRunner its the amp envelope by default.

what does the yellow control in the corner that he applied at the very beginning do?
aaustinnn 1 year ago
@aaustinnn
It's the Velocity envelope. It means the sound Massive produces is never affected by midi , which means it will always come out at full power.
TheRealRunner 1 year ago
yes, should work on demo also.

does this work on the demo? the number below the pitch is absent in mine, and when i move level and decay up or down, nothing happens

I cant find out how to make a kick sound with multiple osc, when I have more than one it becomes flanging and non constant
bakbees 2 years ago
that's cos u should not mix multiple channels of subbass on top of each other, it causes phase cancellation

When I add the velocity to the amp knob, all it does is modulate it once, not constantly like yours, why is this happening?
