It is ironic that the feminist movement and sexual revolution was supposed to make women more free and happy – but instead has made so many women so miserable, with vastly increased divorce, health problems, abortions and out of wedlock births, and the inability of so many to even marry in the first place, because the men aren’t interested. And women and girls are now more sexualized and objectified than ever before in history. And now we are paying for it.
thank you for leting others know that she was called in at the last minute. also it is a production requirement to have notes in your hand as you perform (whether you use them or not) the vagina monologues. listen to what she and any of the other monologues are actually saying. yes, the acting lends much to our appreciation of the performance, but it is the words--the stories--that need to be heard. good job jennifer hudson.love your work always.
Ok I think its important note that J-HUD was called at last minute to fill-in for Oprah in this performance. This is why she did not know the lines etc.
I don't know what the big deal is anyway. In every version of the Vagina Monologues I've seen, there was always a few people reading off of a piece of paper.
i know! i was so horribly disappointed when at the end, Eve Ensler just said "Oprah had a horrible sickness and could not come," how horrible of a sickness do you have to have?
fuck oprah
