I have fought it 112 times, killed it 72 times, achieved 15 ingots and i have yet to see a Trapezohedron. Going kill it another 15 times (that means fighting it around 25+ since death does not always work) if i dont get a Trapz i will buy it instead, my game time is 100:23:06 and still going up, I maxed out everything in the game before even finishing chapter 13 (excluding the weapons cuz of Trapz) Trapz are fucking ridiculous.

if u use fang and snow as sentinels and vanille as sabetour u can survive like 4 or 5 stomps or fang sentinel and hope medic u can just keep spamming death with vanille and wont die

This is a great vid especially the breakdown of the upgrading. As for implementing this method, its a joke. After 30 attempts, Ive killed 3. Out of those 3 Ive gotten 1 platinum ingot. This method is more time consuming than its worth. This is what I get for starting over, I miss my highwind adamantoise slaughter. Im going back to farming mission 24, at 6k gil and 12k cp with a 30 second kill....its guaranteed progress towards at least buying a trap.
Sup man, first of all great video, it help me a lot. but i have a suggestion on KAIN'S LANCE. you should use 22 ULTRACOMPACT REACTOR FROM THE START, it will give you a total of 2,640,000 XP FOR ONLY 11,103,168 GILS bones included.
the way you do it, you spend 1,104,800 +9064 from the bones = 1,113,854. i know is not much but its cheaper lol and faster. i tried that from watching your video many times lol. sorry for english im typing from Colombia. Ty for the videos.
Sorry i don't know how to make videos. All i can say is platinum ingots must be just about gaurenteed to drop cause ive gotten 2 traps and 6 ingots and i killed it 9 times. lol Usually i manage to death it at between half chain gauge and a couple tries into its stagger. :D
Manually use deshell and imperil 5 times each. Then death death death. You will notice that every few battles you will successfully death it in eden hall after its staggered. So to recap. Assasination or extra ravager. (Fast Stagger) (Improved Debuffing II) (Manually Deshell + Imperil with Vannille) (Death Repeatedly) = Favourable rate of Success. I got a trapezohydron after killing it twice which only took 6 battles total! Make sure you have the catalogs on your 3rd character of your choice.
Max Role LVL 5 helps build the chain gauge toward stagger faster. I didn't have it though. I managed to kill it within 3 tries by debuffing and fast staggering. This strategy is soo fast that you get about 3 chances to death it while its staggered. That's the key point. Don't depurpose death by trying to buff yourself. Think only about what effects death the most. In other words chance to hit.
GUESS WHAT! I figured out the perfect strategy for farming those! This is the earliest possible and absolute easiest method. Here is what you do get Lightning Ultima Weapon (Fast Stagger), Vanille Marbora Wand Maxed (Improved Chance of Death Hitting) Use 1 single paradigm, Assasination. You want vanille as saboteur and lightning as ravager. I had fang as sabotuer but that doesn't matter unless she has imperil. If she doesn't just use any other character as ravager.
Yea I farmed Adamatoises today and got over 2 million gil... BUT not even a single Trapezohedron... So tomorrow need to farm at least that 1.3 million...

@TerrarumRaven Do you use Fang? If she casts Curse on the Neochu, it greatly increases the success rate of Death. The Malboro Wand also does too. If you don't have the Malboro Wand, it is tier 2, upgraded from Belladonna Wand, available at Plautus's Workshop. It's catalyst is Scarletite, which drops from Sacrifice at Orphan's Cradle Tessaracts pretty often.
@MAGNAVIX nope when i death spam fang is not on my team because she dosent know the medic role but light and hope do just because neochu can deal alot of damage to you and 1 med is not enough... and i know about vanniles weapons. i have tried useing them, but i dont know. still just no luck
@TerrarumRaven You don't need two medics if you have a sentinel present. Try using the Paradigm Attrition, Vanille as SAB spamming death, Hope as MED healing Fang, and Fang as SEN drawing the attention of the tiny Neochus and the Neochu itself. Be sure to use a Fortisol and an Aegisol before entering the fight with Neochu. If you don't have any, Eden Pharmaceuticals sells each for like 12k a piece.

Uhh.. :L Yes you are ready. BUT. I stress BUT. To make it easier. I suggest getting more hp. :D When i got growth egg. I was spamming death on neochu. I started farming traps when i had 7k hp. :O
in my experience you do not need to dismantle those traps because you will have more than you need. the GIL to upgrade a new weapon is more expensive than the traps. you can get traps more easily than the 1.3m.
hmm im confused with you conlcusion rather 2 than 3 when dismenteling a weapon.... if you get 3 Thrapezohwhat the hel the name is the return money is 200K and 1 extra,, why not cell that extra and get 1,200K and you can repeat this process faster? havnt tryed it yet but I'll use your method first but with a Shamanic spear...lets see
I have discovered that if you equip both catalog and connosseur catalogs on all your party members u have a great chance for the adamantoise to drop a trapezehedron. I manage to earn 7 trapezehedrons in 50 kills. thats 14 % drop of trapezehedrons. Thats the first time i have got so many traps so little time. Dont know if i was lucky or not, but the traps kept on rolling in.

wat i do b4 after summoning is to gesalt then ultimate...having sab-syn-sab or espionage paradigm was much better and faster bec each debuff gives addition 1% chance to hit death...and fang can provide 5-6 debuffs total...

@manuelsuperhandsome yes after u reach orphans cradle youll can teleport back to either edenhall or gran pulse...you can also do this after you beat the game
Wow, it makes me really sad to read these comments about how hard getting a trap is, when I got my first on my first adamantoise kill ever and my second trap on my 4th kill ever. Damn, there's a long road standing between me and the platinum trophy.
Believe it or not, I got my first trapezohedron on my first kill of an adamantortoise... It was my 1st visit to gran pulse and the first adamantortoise I ever fought and only the fifth or sixth death cast... I was stupid though and used it to upgrade the ultima weapon... I shoulda made kain's lance... But, live and learn
Nice guide, cut right to the chase. You can easily buy them from the shop if you spent 7 straight hours killing it, you have to have enough platinum ingots. Then do what he did in the video, and keep doubling up on your traps.

How many time did you have restart to get the Plat Ingot before the 1,504,000, they don't give up as many as most enemies....And without the Death and Summon Trick you're going to have to upgrade a stupid clay ring into Gailian Ring to hope of surviving. The Plaza is great place, but I prefer the plains for Ingots. 08 ingots = 1,200,000 btw
I've only fought seven Adamantoise so far, and I've already got three Traps. Got the first two on the Steppe and the other here. Have to get them here now as I completed Mission 63 without realizing what that triggers.
@KjeldvanKeulen yea i realize that now, but each ultimate weapon has multiple versions so if you wanted to get every version then you would need a bunch of traps right? so i guess...were both right?

@drkcrstl Yes it is good, and plenty of people go for the taming pole. If you're going to use her as Sab (which you should) as well as Sen and Com, it's a great weapon. Dragoon's Lance is good too, with the huge amount of strength, but has no magic on it...
Uhm i think theres another way but it requires lots of risk. u can defeat adamantoise w/o any shrouds or sommons. You just need fang as leader and u need genjis glove that cap 999,999 dmg. stagger 1 leg , then use highlander and do the same to the other and then stagger the adamantoise and use highlander when its about half dead...yay..?

Google in "Upgrading Final Fantasy XIII weapons" and go to the FinalFantasyWikia website, It shows every weapon and tells you exactly how much EXP every weapon requires to max out.
This really helps if you are trying to save money, which might be everyone.
I hate farming Adamantoise. I always equip a collector catalog and get a platinum ingot every other time I defeat him.
Theres was this one time when I already got 6 Trapezohedrons from farming them with a Connosieur Catalog. After that I started farming them for platinum ingots with a Collector Catalog and it gave a Trapezohedron every time. I got a total of 12 Trapezohedrons in a row. (WTF) Why couldn't it have done that earlier. I and doulbed checked to see if I had the Collector Catalog.
Buy them from R&D Depot (complete mission 7). The stone for mission 7 can be found at some ruins at the far end of Gran Pulse. Also, if u fix up Botti in Fang and Vanille's village, he gets u 2 free ones.
but the best thing about @airmil123 is that he does all this, bit by bit exacly how everyone wants to SEE it them selvs so yea if only i could record from my tv i'll show u the easyest way like i said below how to max out an Omega weapon ^_-)

FF8 and 10 Are by far the Best (13 included) but i don't understand why they are so under the radar! they really need to stop putting so much attention on 7 and focus more on the better ones. FF8 really deserves its on movie, and prequel games and so does 10! Square Enix just doesnt realize this!

If you want better spoils, you should equip a level 5 or more Collector's Catalog. Survivor's catalog is useless, so you don't need to equip it.

Btw debuffing does improve the chance of death because death is considered a debuff. It has an effect not just damage. Dead give away.

in my experience you do not need to dismantle those traps because you will have more than you need. the GIL to upgrade a new weapon is more expensive than the traps. you can get traps more easily than the 1.3m.

hmm im confused with you conlcusion rather 2 than 3 when dismenteling a weapon.... if you get 3 Thrapezohwhat the hel the name is the return money is 200K and 1 extra,, why not cell that extra and get 1,200K and you can repeat this process faster? havnt tryed it yet but I'll use your method first but with a Shamanic spear...lets see

y'know the glass floor to the left if the adamantortoise ?
there were 2 treasure spheres there and i got 1 , so i ran to the other , and the adamantortoise stepped on the glass and he fell down :/

I have discovered that if you equip both catalog and connosseur catalogs on all your party members u have a great chance for the adamantoise to drop a trapezehedron. I manage to earn 7 trapezehedrons in 50 kills. thats 14 % drop of trapezehedrons. Thats the first time i have got so many traps so little time. Dont know if i was lucky or not, but the traps kept on rolling in.

wat i do b4 after summoning is to gesalt then ultimate...having sab-syn-sab or espionage paradigm was much better and faster bec each debuff gives addition 1% chance to hit death...and fang can provide 5-6 debuffs total...

Believe it or not, I got my first trapezohedron on my first kill of an adamantortoise... It was my 1st visit to gran pulse and the first adamantortoise I ever fought and only the fifth or sixth death cast... I was stupid though and used it to upgrade the ultima weapon... I shoulda made kain's lance... But, live and learn

Nice guide, cut right to the chase. You can easily buy them from the shop if you spent 7 straight hours killing it, you have to have enough platinum ingots. Then do what he did in the video, and keep doubling up on your traps.

How many time did you have restart to get the Plat Ingot before the 1,504,000, they don't give up as many as most enemies....And without the Death and Summon Trick you're going to have to upgrade a stupid clay ring into Gailian Ring to hope of surviving. The Plaza is great place, but I prefer the plains for Ingots. 08 ingots = 1,200,000 btw

I've only fought seven Adamantoise so far, and I've already got three Traps. Got the first two on the Steppe and the other here. Have to get them here now as I completed Mission 63 without realizing what that triggers.

i have tried this and it worked pretty well for me :
- unlocked the long guis.
- killed them for trapozehedrons.
optional - not strong ? use cheap poison methods + summon easy !
each trapozehedron has around 30% to drop. i got 2 with , like , 6 kills

@UtubeH8tr Actually its not so much hours and hours of grinding as it is going for the high cp kills after maxing out your chrystarium. There are half a dozen battles that give you 80 to 150k cp, and are not so much difficult as they are time consuming. Besides, you aren't able to get up to max health till after you beat the game so don't stress your current stats too much if you aren't in postgame.

@drkcrstl Yes it is good, and plenty of people go for the taming pole. If you're going to use her as Sab (which you should) as well as Sen and Com, it's a great weapon. Dragoon's Lance is good too, with the huge amount of strength, but has no magic on it...

Uhm i think theres another way but it requires lots of risk. u can defeat adamantoise w/o any shrouds or sommons. You just need fang as leader and u need genjis glove that cap 999,999 dmg. stagger 1 leg , then use highlander and do the same to the other and then stagger the adamantoise and use highlander when its about half dead...yay..?

Google in "Upgrading Final Fantasy XIII weapons" and go to the FinalFantasyWikia website, It shows every weapon and tells you exactly how much EXP every weapon requires to max out.
This really helps if you are trying to save money, which might be everyone.

I hate farming Adamantoise. I always equip a collector catalog and get a platinum ingot every other time I defeat him.
Theres was this one time when I already got 6 Trapezohedrons from farming them with a Connosieur Catalog. After that I started farming them for platinum ingots with a Collector Catalog and it gave a Trapezohedron every time. I got a total of 12 Trapezohedrons in a row. (WTF) Why couldn't it have done that earlier. I and doulbed checked to see if I had the Collector Catalog.

Buy them from R&D Depot (complete mission 7). The stone for mission 7 can be found at some ruins at the far end of Gran Pulse. Also, if u fix up Botti in Fang and Vanille's village, he gets u 2 free ones.

FF8 and 10 Are by far the Best (13 included) but i don't understand why they are so under the radar! they really need to stop putting so much attention on 7 and focus more on the better ones. FF8 really deserves its on movie, and prequel games and so does 10! Square Enix just doesnt realize this!
