@marklewin8 i hear ya. i love his physique. he's worked hard for it over the years, looking at his old stuff getting on stage at 235-240 and he's managed to keep his waist tight but add 60lbs with better conditioning? that's just intense! i'm 6'2, 210 at under 10% bodyfat, want to get up to where i'd be 220 at a competition and x-man is definitely an inspiration for me as a "taller" guy starting out bodybuilding.
@marklewin8 8th last year 9th this year. If he came in with absolute killer conditioning though he'd probably move up a couple of spots. To really dominate he'd probably have to somehow move up to about 310 competition weight with sick conditioning, but he should be able to battle for 4-7 without doing that. He'd crush a ronnie rockel type physique if he nailed his conditioning down like branch, dex, or phil did this year, but he hasn't managed that recently.
@jonmarcwright one of my favorites of all time..I dunno, Ronnie Rockel, Ben Pulaski, Phil Heath are still improving every year..and I don't like Zack Kahn but he's coming-he's got the mass and physique. Other than that you're right. IF Tony could maintain his X frame and come in at 300 he'd be in the top 3 or so. But do you think his better days are behind him?
@marklewin8 I dunno, he doesn't seem to be on his way out as far as his physique and his drive. I mean the level of competition has improved vastly at the O in the past few years but he still seems ready to hard charge so I'm thinking we might see a strong year out of him again before he retires. I mean, placing 1 behind a Victor Martinez that looked the same as when he could've/should've won the olympia in '07.... without totally nailing conditioning.... he's still alright i think.
Unfortunately I think it is too late for Freeman, but I have been pulling for him in a number of shows, thought he deserved a better placing at 2009 Arnold. The top guys are too young and too structurally gifted (aside from Warren) for Freeman to make a break for the win. Still a top notch athlete and anyone on stage at 290 is fucking awesome in my book, thats beef status!! haha
Toney and Flex my all time favorites, no bloated pot bellies like Ronnie, Jay, Kai and Branch.

@jonmarcwright yeah, taller frames seem to demand much more mass than shorter ones.
he looks great at 43. I saw where he placed pretty low at Mr.O?

Now that the O seems to have gone back to aesthetics, Toney may a shot.

Toney IS da man! Terrific structure top 2 in my opinion of the current front runners for the "O."
