  • I have also noticed that in America artists are less appreciated. In Japan artists are more respected for their art.

  • sounds like an american on the verge of self realization .... (yes im american) our way of life is rich w/out being superior ?

  • @mikeknight42 :: i'm confused by your comment a bit..

  • @shotamerican All I tried to say was that America deals with so many more cultures than Japan (and therefore is posed to accept that much more.) I don't dislike Japanese culture for its unique creations, but instead for its egotism and conformity. In My Opinion, Japan is a necessary inclusion to understanding the world but does not create an ideal circumstance for a comprehensive universal understanding of humanity. [Although it is a necessary part of the sample based on its current population]

  • is it true that the japanese aren't too fond of foreigners?

  • @ChocolateyChocobo13 :: unfortunately there are poopy heads no matter where in the world you go, but overall i did not feel i was being treated wrongly. i would actually live there for the rest of my life if i didn't have to work there, mwahaha!

  • someone told me that women in japan don't hold high places and never will..and that they don't have many rights..could you tell me what life is like in japan for a japenese woman...the person who told me this is a muslim and he wanted to say that muslim women aren't the only ones oppressed..

  • @susieruthie :: well, it's best to ask a japanese woman about this. cause whatever i think is only from my american standards and my american point of view. i don't know if 'oppression' was what i felt while living there, but i did feel a strong need to fit the character stereotype that everyone decided for me according to my appearance. for example, they preferred i spoke 'softly' instead of 'tomboyish' (my real persona)

  • @shotamerican yeah..that was what i was hoping for..a japanese woman comment

  • @susieruthie :: i'm not japanese. or was that sarcastic? try asking hirokochannel

  • @shotamerican sorry..no..i was not being sarcastic..i saw that you were american,i was hoping a japanese woman would make a comment here,,that is what i meant..

    thanks..i will ask hirokochannel

  • This was an introduction to her vlog, not a complete, compiled version of everything she wanted to say, gosh.

Just watch the other videos to get to know Japan better, from her perspective. The vlog in general is good.

  • You are adorable ma. But I kinda see what you are saying. My dream is to live in Japan. My heart screams for Japan. I am sad here in america and so much racism here. But Id like to know how would I go being living there? Or is my only hope is to find a girl to marry to stay there?

  • USA! USA! USA!

  • This video doesn't say anything about your life in Japan. All you do is talk about not offending people. Watching this was a waste of time, no offense. What made you go back to Japan?

  • @jay733 :: this video is mad old, my friend. at the time my husband didn't want me to say much about it and i was respecting that request. if you are looking for more deeper japan life stuff, there are a TON of vloggers out there that give that stuff. good luck on finding what you want, here are a few vloggers to get you started (tokyocooney, japanchanneldotcom, gimmeaflakeman, rodgerswan to name a few)

  • Japen I will be there some how ....realy cool there i mean tredition and all thing awsome and OMG peapol there soooo cute

  • find me a mudkip girl

  • There is one thing I object to - notwithstanding your request that no one take your remarks the wrong way - namely, the putative existence of an American and a Japanese Winnie the Pooh; both are impostors. There is only one Winnie the Pooh, and he's English.

  • i like the fact you didnt go there.... u cant explain it well and everyone will see it through thier own tainted lense..... its like try to explain why you like yellow or whatever you fav coulor is.... mabye pink i think...

  • learned nothing about life in japan, you were going on about something else

  • What do you over there in japan?

  • Your exhibits provide very compelling evidence

  • I think the 1st your you have to know as a foreigner is "Dont cause other people problems!" . The Japanese life is all about that phase. they very respect others privacy, and always making things simple.

when you live in tokyo, you'll feel it.

  • That didn't cover a whole lot about life in Japan. How about another more informative video?

  • My god you're beautiful in this. Always have been. Always will be.

  • how hard will it be to live in japan knowing lil japanese?

  • it really depends where u at and what type of peoples are surround at where u live.

it can be a little difficult cause not much japanese peoples know fluent english..

and it is also hard for you to communicate w/ others peoples. like.... buys things, ordering things...reading important stuff....listen to the news like (News Zero)... and etc.

  • Lol holding up the dolphin

"Well this is pretty cute, don't you like that?"

  • cute~ agreed

  • cute~

  • I was seriously waiting for you to say something offensive.....didn't hear anything that was.......anything.

  • Nice interesting!

  • damn shes cute

  • do all ppl in japan spk english???

  • no. quite the opposite.

  • haha who'da thunk it....people speaking Japanese in Japan? LOL I sense sarcasm in your reply to this comment :-)

  • cool

  • c'mon, dont be afraid to offend people. this is youtube, express yourself, FREELY. lol

  • Hey I wanna live in Japan lol. But for nerdy reasons though, study architecture @_@; but the culture too lol

  • you should check out that mic..^^

    *Subscribe*

  • Lol, if someone said that to me (sucks to be you), I'd probably answer with something like:

"Aha yes, I moved here to get away from the crappy dubbed anime LOL."

... while wearing a shirt that said 'foreigner'. :] I wan one of those. You should get one too - hah

  • spit it out!

  • you know what, i never been to japan, but i know what u mean 98% , :D

  • *specifying NORTH american*

As mexican are americans, canadians too, venezolanos, chileans, brazilians. All of them are americans.

  • No shit, when people say americans they mean all of us, too, dumbass

  • no dumbass, most US north americans use the term american to describe themselves, as if they were the only ones.

  • Well north, south they all suck, i was born here and live here and it sucks, i rather have culture and honor like in Japaneses, they have something called politeness. eh ! i love democracy but i dislike Americas

  • I understand your situation in this video. xD my friends/relatives would always, and I mean always, ask about how's life in japan, what it feels like living there and all. And same with you... speechless or maybe just a shrug. xDD eheheh

  • Yeah really though that people are now starting to look down on americans

  • lolz how about this japan is what japan is or japan is japan lolz ^_^

  • I think they hate america so much, because of Hiroshima and the WW2 and stuff... But I think they are also so racist, because they fear that the foreigners get over their jobs and such things and then it will be a big fat unemployed percent in the statistics.

Sry if my english isnt perfect :)

  • The Japanese Winnie the Pooh is fantastic!

  • you're cute.

  • You are beautiful!

    Go America !!

  • What!! u're american? You dont look like, you look smart!! Sucks to be you!

lol i'm just joking, i love people from all around the world, and americans too ;)

I went in japan for two months last summer, and i can understand what u say, life is not just "kawaii" like people can think in western countries.Different culture, different way of thinking and live. Anyway, good luck and keep bringing good stuff! Greetings from France ;)

  • woovy.you are stupid!idiot!lol I'm just joking too...

  • Go ahead and say what you think anyway. Besides, as far as I know, you've pretty much warned us almost throughout the whole video. Now we make me wonder what the hell you were going to say that was offensive?

  • Hahahahahaha. Winnie the Pooh!

  • Hey! Out of curiosity.. Are you Filipino? Cuz u look like one

  • in her first video she explaned that she was a filipino-american

  • Oh thanks

  • your welcome

  • USA USA!!!!

  • Let them make jokes about America; I love it here.

  • wowo so beautiful .. i take Japaneses class .... i would like to go there some time... as long your there.

  • Actually, Winnie the Pooh is English. He was created by A. A. Milne and drawn by E. H. Shepard. Both Englishmen.

  • True, although note as well that the bear who provided the inspiration was Canadaian, and the name "Winnie" comes from the name of the original bear's home town: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

  • You learn something new everyday. :3

So he was created by Englishmen but inspired from a Canadian bear.

  • i think your cute

  • Also (I hope you dont mind me asking) What do you do for work over there? Most people seem to be english teachers, which worries me cause I never got degrees in teaching or english so I cant do that but I want to move to Japan soon.

(sorry for both the comments together it was over 500 characters)

  • To some up that video, Living is japan is just being surrounded by cuteness yes :)

Its ok we already thought that anyway :)

I would like to know more about how you find living in Japan though especially if you say your japanese isnt that great, then it means alot of people can relate to your situation which will help more people.

  • AND!!

The news and gameshows are whacked and theres often a large denial about the bad things in Japan. Japan is truly a contradiction where nothing makes sense yet it seems so magical and crazy that you dont want to wake up from :P

  • Japan is fantastic its like a wild dream where nothing at all makes sense. There are shops nestled in between shops, girls wearing little bo peep customes, 80s haircuts and white jackets and trousers, every imaginable cuddly toy, happy smiley people, dirty omg so many pornographic manga and videos displayed in the open for anyone to see! Dirty men touching women on the train at rush hour, amazing food, so damn healthy! A lack of fizzy but galleons of tea, lovely japanese gardens and temples.

  • Enjoying your videos! Your motivation moves me to pop open my own sketchbook. Are you doing anything academically to further your art? I'm planning on coming over to Japan in March or April next year, so I'm interested in finding out if life drawing classes and the like are easily accessible.

  • personally I would be glad if you say a bit more about yourself in next vid, you know what you do , why u came to japan and such stuff :))

  • Life in Japan sounds like a dream to me :P

Next time don't be so scared of talking the truth even if it sounds racist, if living there is really that great I wanna hear it all! =D

  • lol great video. As one like you, its normal for most asian cultures today is cute looking. I also think government of any country is like that. Its not always like it seems.

Please let us know you dream of manga. Just take the time to understand the culture and its reasons.

  • Radical.

  • Plus, I think that the reason Japanese people want to have authority over what foreigners say about their country has to do with the fact that the nation of Japan is big on controlling its perceived image to outsiders.

  • it seems to me that the government tries to control the view of its own citizens more than outsiders. if you really wanna know what is going on with the country sometimes, you have to read international reports. the media here is pretty scared of looking anti-government so they keep out a lot of things.

  • SO....... If you go around talking up the US, you're the "ugly American." But it's perfectly okay for somebody from Norway to say something amazingly negative about the states?

Feel free to tell us about Japan btw, cause the whole, "If you've never been here, then you won't understand" thing is kinda like saying, "If you have to ask, you can't afford it."

  • my whole point was that i don't think i should make hasty generalizations about a culture especially when i know how it feels to have others do the same about my culture. i never said the harassment i get for being american was okay.

and i will tell you about japan, little by little. i'm more likely to answer more specific questions. for example (and please don't ask me these questions they are just examples!), "where's a good place to eat?" as opposed to, "what is there to do around town?"

  • plz talk about manga materials submission details if u know.

  • oh, and btw i think the american winnie the pooh is cuter =P

  • excellent video, pretty amusing!
