i own both yamaha and polaris 4 wheelers and those who talk shit about yamaha thats funny because i have a 30 year old yamaha timberwolf and it runs. i have 3 polaris's and ive had problems with them since i bought them. and 2 of them dont run. and dont say thats because you took better care of the yamaha, and thats bullshit. yamaha dependability is better than any, except honda in my book. and maybe ktm, there expensive but great bikes. and polaris took ktms engine anyway for the outlaw.
700 raptor vs 500 outlaw? the polaris didnt stand a chance! and personally, i dont like the raptors, theyre too big and heavy for a sport quad. i rather a banshee, lightweight and fast ;p banshee vs a 660? that would be fun to watch.

my yfz, i change the oil every 15 hours, i did a top end rebuild last winter just for preventative measures, but there was nothing wrong with it, and everything i pulled out looked immaculate, ill take a jap bike over american any day.
haha yea i know what you mean, i admit polaris also has some bad apples. but the ones i own never have been a problem, i totally agree with you, and i am also aware that polaris isn't 100% true american, the motors are put together by fuji motorcorp which is japanese. fuji i believe has something to do with subaru too.
the main issues i have with polaris are the very small details, the bikes dont seem as well engineered as the japenese bikes, the utility quads are great, and i really want a razr really really bad. but the sport quads just seem heavy, im not even aware of the weight, they just feel heavy.
well you are right. the predators and early outlaws were heavy for their time, my predator weighs nearly 500 pounds with all the fluids in it. and some point i knew but i have forgotten the dry weight, but the outlaw adds only 20 pounds because of the suspension set up. although the newer outlaws weigh a lot less than the early polaris sport quads.
03 predator weighs 405 dry i think i have one it feels so heavy in the front and light in the back and im getting a 06 raptor 700 and tht thing feels light everywhere and it says it weighs 6 pounds more idk

Well really for anyone that says this is garbage or that is garbage just stop... It has been proven that the raptor has the highest top end of any factory quad. (which it should because it has well over 100cc's more than the nearest competition) It has also been proven that the Outlaw gets to its top end faster, but look how long the race was.. obviously if both riders are competent the quad with a higher top end will win... All quads are good for something, it just depends on what you want.
ababyduck is a dumbass. yamaha's are very reliable machines ive had 3. i loved them. and the 700 is a beast of a machine. but its engine isnt tuned like the outlaws so the performance is different. i love the 700's either way

ok me and my cousin got atvs the same day he got a raptor 700 i got a trx700xx. ok a month later i rode his to compare mine to his and mine is holding up together really good and his not so good... the engine takes forever to get started, the lights arent even aligned up right anymore, and the handlebars are screechy is that normal lol? ive had no problmes with my atv yet.

yeah i had an 05 yamaha yfz450 very reliable quad. my friend also has a 04 yfz never had any problems with it. yamaha builds a very good machine.
