@greendayrules11 well if you dont mind having to bring it to the dealer to have them change the plugs because they freeze and break off in the head ford has tools to remove .or a phaser go's out at around 80,000 or the phaser solinod can be very costly if you dont have the skills to do it yourself. if your one of the lucky ones you will get 125,000 trouble free mile but they are far and few between this is why they no longer make the motor to many people with bad experiences with them

@O7ROADKING Luck of the draw? Neither the F150 or our 5.4 F250 have had that problem. 145,000 on the F150 and 178,900 on the F250. Both vehicles were bought brand new in 2006. How cold are you talking? The coldest these trucks have seen were about 10 below or so.

@greendayrules11 i had an 02 and 3 of the spark plugs would not come out i brought it to ford and they broke all 3 they had my truck for 3 weeks that was a great truck dont get me wrong other than the plugs not coming out and it is a common problem on the 5.4. i sold it and bought a new 2004 f350 diesel.i having minor problems with it still.its been reflashed by ford to many times.just today i brought my brothers lincolin mark4 pickup in and both phasers are acting need to be changed $4500

@greendayrules11 ya you might be right there good luck to you.i was not talking temperature thespark plugs get stuck in the head alot and there down inside tubes in the head you cannot get to them if you break one you need special tools to get them out. i know it sounds crazy but look it up on any f150 site ill bet there are more than one guy that has had this problem.f150 was always the truck i drove until that happend to my plugs got the bigboy now but want to get a new f150 with the 5.0
