Very talented man. He's done it all. One of Rap/HipHop's pioneers. Too bad it sucks today. Malcolm's probably turning over in his grave...R.I.P. Mr. McLaren. From New York City
@reeny2 ..that is exactly what this is trip hop..i love portishead by the way ..i love the way it was mixed im surprised no rapper's sampled this in any of their songs ..
@blackopsrule hi if u like this than u would probably love moby's video oh lordy he added vera hall singing trouble so hard and it is so much like this song check out( moby)( oh lordy) than also type( vera hall) (trouble so hard) it's reminicent of this song thanks so much!!! becky
@caleblovescolts So if you weren't black, you wouldn't be allowed to ask that question? :P Man, when black people are afraid to sound racist towards their own kind I don't know what is what anymore lol.
The first time I heard this song was watching Kill Bill Vol. 2 for the first time. It was mesmerizing and I was hooked. Thank God for You Tube! I knew I'd find it here.
Me enamore de la desesperación que exhala su alma a través de su vos, la tristeza desesperada y la desesperada tristeza que trata de desvanecer entre trago y trago...
I am so very sad to hear the passing of Malcolm Mclaren.
I had respected Mr Malcolm Mclaren's music since I was in school...He was one the most creative artistes and producers I had ever heard and seen be it his album themes and fashion concepts created alongside the list of great artistic people backing him up like Mr Ds-ART and The Supreme Team, etc.
Some of the greatest art comes from the greatest pain. English promoter Malcolm McLaren has used older music for many years and brought in into the mainstream. I wish I knew what this original he sampled from is. It is powerful to watch.
The Intro is just mesmerizing !! I´m so glad it was used in the OST of Kill Bill , otherwise , probably I´d never ever hear about it , since the "She´s not there" version is not nearly as good as with Bessie .
may i know plzzzzzzzzzzzz what the actualy meaning and whats the situation behind this song???i can understand the lyrics but can somebody plz tell me whats the actual situation??like for what the women is sad????regards.hrishi
The interplay in the song is between the man and the woman. She is sad because she has broken his heart, and he is talking about how evil she was. The song is about a devastating and broken relationship. Like the relationship between Beatrix and Bill in Kill Bill.

@Kayuism she says: "My man's got a heart like the rock cast in the sea." The line is from Bessie Smith's song called St. Louis Blues.
