when are they going to do up a tahoe ss? I love the new body style of the tahoe. I mean, I never really liked blazers until they built this one and I admit it is cool and I would rock one in a heartbeat.
i have one of these an 08 and like John said the pig avg 12.5 a gallon in the city which is like the only place it goes and it is well tuned. if abused probably 8mpg.
12.5 that is just insane. its for when gas prices were at their peak in the late 60 early 70's . like 35 cents a gallon. then it would be worth it.
Thank you for the video It was the best on on this vehicle . I was so sick of seeing ones of aholes destroy the truck by putting in all kinds of aftermarket BS disgusting rims and one jack ass put a fire ex in bolted into the trunk floor WTF do you think you got a big daddy don gontelites F(*&^ rail , flowmasters and then giving a video of ten minutes of solid noise.i mean what kind of F*&^%)(* idiots are out there.each video is worse than the next made by a more stupider red neck than the first
The TB SS should be very fast without even any numbers considered. Because I have drag raced 275hp inline 6 traiblazers from a stop with a 4.6L V8 suv and they were only 2-3 car lenghs behind me so I can just imagine what a TB can do with a 6.0L corvette engine and 4.10 axle.... and the sound that goes along with it, is just awesome.
I would throw all of the drivetrain and suspension components into a 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada since it only came with the Vortec Inline-6. Can you say "Sleeper" haha!
If any of you guys have facebook, search up trailblazer SS fan club and check out my Trailblazer blacked out with the HD's and smoked tails! Dual Exhaust and etc... Join the club! :)
@macktenful chevy is all problems. some chevys are made in korea with an american logo on it. foreign cars are actually made in michigan and canada. chevy will break down before any honda!
@macktenful My 98 Honda Accord has all original 225k miles on it and still sounds like the same when I first got from the dealer. Will your SS go that far? I bet not!
4 speed. Hahaha. With the amount of low end torque that this engine produces it should be mated to a 5 speed or 6 speed transmission to make better use of it. The Jeep SRT8 seems to have that down why not GM? Same too with Imports in general, using 5 speed or higher units since the 90s.
@7477238 More gears isnt always better, I have an 07 TBSS and the 4spd works perfectly with the LS2 more gears also mean more moving parts, more weight even though minimal, and doesn't always directly contribute to better performance. The SS is built for speed and last time I checked no car uses all 5+ gears in a drag race...
@elp2500HD21 Right because all you will do with your TBSS is drag race. I'm pretty sure you use it to go get groceries and tear down the highway and what not. 5+ gears will allow the engine to stay within it's torque curve better and it will sound a bit more lively when going through the gears, it won't go from 6k rpm and drop to 3.5k rpm and take an eternity to go into the next gear. Also I bet this thing revs at 2 or 2.5k rpm on the highway so the exhausts probably drone.
@7477238 Well first thing is the TBSS only has one exhaust... as stated in the video if you watched it. On the highway at 60 it stays just under 2K rpm. The sound is very minimal even with a resonator delete. The SS has very good sound dampining and the shifts are firm. Full out it stays in the upper 2/3s of the rev range between shifts, dispite "Only" having 4 gears. I see no peoblem with the transmission GM Performance has fitted to the SS and no complaints with how it drives track or street
I love the american mindset on cars, take an ordinary trailblazer, shove in a 400hp corvette engine, spice up the handling and looks, and still make it relatively affordable.
I got one just like the one there driving black fully loaded awd! Very fast just throw on some exhaust and its REDICULOUS!!!! gorgeaus and very comfortable fast than srt8 jeep! AWSOME TRUCK SUPER RARE TO!!!
@loudblazer they needed more cubes for a more torque biased engine due to this being a truck. They wouldnt put an engine with a top end biased powerband in a 4800 pound truck. Plus thats 14 more cubes to play with
@datkoolbrutha hmm i never noticed,, i know not many people bout it, but it just as good as the SS. the only reason it exits is becasue GM had a wonderful idea to take a car maker and put their badge on a TB
@VegetasRage I mena yeah, it was good that they gave Saab something like that. But I would rather see Saab build their own cars instead of rebadged vehicles.Maybe the ownership with Spyker will change that.
@VegetasRage congratulations on getting 7 thumbs down, plus the dumbest comment here. Guess your too stupid to realize that the 97x is a rebadged trailblazer with the same engines. Now go and replace your brain with an upgraded model.
@VegetasRage wrong? Dude, the 97x is nothing but a rip-off of the trailblazer. You call taking the nose off of a Saab 93 and putting it on an American car looking better? No wonder nobody agrees with you!
@datkoolbrutha that has nothing to do with anything..... im saying it looks better... yea the front end is the only thing different but it makes the whole car look better
@datkoolbrutha Actually The SAAB 97 is more like the Buick Rainer then the Trailblazer (i know they are the same vehicle by specs) But the 97 has similar features to the Rainer. Like air bags in the back and better steering. It has a much more luxurious interior, and the headlights look much better. All in all it's a much better looking and riding vehicle. (Also it's a few inches lower, providing for better cornering with not too much of its off road abilty taken away)
No, this thing does not bounce at all. The ride is pretty stiff but not like my trans am was. Corners freakin great and I get about 14mpg all around. She's thirsty at 400hp, 6001lbs
@SammyM00782 6000ibs? no no no no...what do u think this is? a 3/4 ton suburban? maybe GVWR but curb weight is about 4800 but not sure if thats 2wd or awd.
My 2002 TB doesn't bounce at all... In fact it's one of the smoothest rides I've had over the years. Granted I've never driven a luxury car, but I'd say it's about as smooth as my dads 2006 Honda Accord Hybrid. Not bad for a vehicle of this size and weight.

Paid 26k for our Sunroofed 2WD in '06. So far Broken rear hatch handle, broken drivers seat power switch applique, front bilstein shocks were blown by 22k miles and replaced at 36 after ruining the front tires(chopped tread), bad ignition switch at 36k.... this truck might leave you stranded but it is fun! Theres a reason people buy Honda Pilots this truck is not it!
it all depends if take care of them
