@1lovesoni Those do not involve patents, those are designs that are open and so old there is no US Patent that is applicable to anything. I also do not import anything. I buy my items all from inside the United States and purchase from suppliers inside so I never imported anything. Then something brought in as a manual and then converted later is a gray area and debatable because easily converted is how the law reads and that is speculative to whom is doing it.
BM imported fully automatic knives?? I never knew that. I heard that Spyderco got whacked a few years back by customs for allegedly importing butterfly knives in supposed violation of the knife import laws. It would seem auto knives would be a more clear cut violation. Why Spyderco though? I mean imported junk butterfly knives are sold buy the boatload everywhere in pawn shops and at flea markets. I wonder why Spyderco was singled out??
I would tend to think that Benchmade had something to do with it. My opinion totally so I exercise my 1st Amendment Freedom of Speech Here, so piss off Les De Ahole anotherwords.
Back to my opinion now, I think Spyderco put a hurt on Benchmades monopoly and they moved out of California for knife laws and moved to Oregon to produce instead, then they saw a flaw with Spyderco on how they imported and dropped dime on them. Good way to hurt the competition. The problem almost bankrupted them.
lol i laughed at the part " and i may just have a personal freind there who would be very interested in this..." keep up the good work, your videos have been very informative, and without them, i probably would not have noticed this whole situation. they are hippocrits and you should counter sue for the same charge that they sued you on, now what would the judge say to that? and you would probably make benchmade look like the fools they really are infront of thousands of people.
