That's the first time I've ever heard the song, but it works really well for Clana (for both Clark's and Lana's POVs.) I loved the editing, especially the black-and-white parts, and I loved the last 30 seconds or so. Favorited. :)

Oh my God you guys, it doesn't matter what THEY wrote it about, it matters how YOU interpret the lyrics. Barry Manilow wrote his song Mandy about a dog for crying out loud! People still play it at weddings. Whether this is about his mom or not, music can be interpreted to suit the listener.

No it is not about his mother. You can tell that by the song alone. What the band decided to do with the video interpretation was the liberal. Would really think someone would be singing to his mother to leave him behind? It is obvious he is talking about someone who has elected to love him. (Main theme) As it fits with Clark and Lana. Secondly, the way this person is interacting, languagem touching etc would be a seriously Oedipus relationship.
