If u use the manumatic mode on the car its faster so it helps to use that when doing a top speed run or 0-60 run its essentially the same as having a manual i have an 05' 3.5 sl and its just as the manual version.
ALL SE/SL models with automatics came with H rated tires which are spec'd for 130mph and they put the electropnic limiter at 125. 5 speeds have V rated tires and go to 145-150.
Alright. I believe you cause i know youre a knowledgeable guy. I got w rated on my car now and am getting a tune soon so i should prob ask the guy if he can remove that limiter for me. i wont be going above 125 often, but its nice to know its not limited. :)
Yours has a little dip after it goes into third like mine. I wanna figure out how to get rid of that. the first time i took it to the track I ran a 14.8 @ 95 and it would lag a little in 3rd like that.
actually stock for stock the altima will beat the maxima. maximas dont have enough of a power boost to make up for how much more they weigh. sorry for the bad news bro. get over it.
Check my vids out. I have a JWT intake, Magnaflow catback, NWP VIAS delete plate, and Racingline Y pipe. I used a stopwatch to rough benchmark and I am beating you from 20-100 by better than 2 seconds. I'm glad to see my mods are paying off.
Well I used to have a grand am daily driver and a modded 1G DSM. Now my Altima is sorta filling the bill for both. Some dumb ass rear ended me in my GA and so I sold the talon and bought myself my 3.5.
@NosferatuSRT I did a few small things to my altima, but, to make it a race car, you'd have to be retarded. It costs way to much for the slight speed you get. tune a LS1 if you want speed man. These cars are great they are fast enough for daily driving and reliable for the speed.
@dsm2xtreme The VIAS delete plate that NWP sells and promotes removal of the VIAS valve is completely misleading. Nissan placed the VIAS valve inside that VQ manifold for an important reason, to ensure complete fuel burn in the cylinders at idle and low speed driving. When the entire Vias valve system is removed, the velocity of the air flowing to the cylinders is lower and there is minimal air swirl. So essentially, small droplets of fuel goes into the oil system and dilutes it (engine wear)
That was a good run for being stock. It amazes me though how much quicker the manual is over the automatic. Automatic's 4th gear drops the revs way too low in my opinion, should drop it closer to 5k. All in all a quick car.
@NosferatuSRT se-r is the same speed doesn't matter. I am always confused why people think the Se-r is some kind of mythical monster. The suspension is better, it's heavier and has a little more power. Thus speed wise it's about the same. Quarter mile times vary by less than .2 seconds and usually because of the driver. 4AT vs 5AT, For daily driving, surprisingly the 4 speed gearing is better, with better gas mileage. from 0-85 a 4at is faster. And gas mileage is better because of gearing.
@hercules71185 05, 06 SE-R is not a mythical monster, but it was faster, more than .2 secs. in the quarter. The gearing is closer ratio. Aluminum rear suspension, 6sp man. Mine has aluminum hood. I think 02 through 06 3.5 SE had metal hood. Claimed 10 HP more. (Slight tune maybe). Slight tuned exhaust. will get through the quarter as you are going into 4th. Mine weighs 3575, with me in it. and a 115 lb. speaker box. I weigh 205. That brings it to @ 3250, so itslighter than the 05-06 SE model.
Respond to this video...Also cuts out at 147 (top of 5th gear.) Still have another gear. and it is not like the Civic Si with the long 6th gear. It is pretty close to 5th. I don't know if it has enough power to bury the needle at 160. It sure feels like it tho
Hey how are you, good video. Check out my 05 Altima 3.5SE 5 speed. What can you say about? Thanks! /watch?v=c4JQ5rN0lBM

Too bad us 5AT SE/SL owners are electronically limited to 125 due to H rated tires. Thanks Nissan!!!

CAN YOU BEAT A MAXIMA STOCK?
TRELL5044 2 years ago
Yes, I have a Maxima :(
Great car, both have the same engine, but it's a simple lack of weight that makes the Altima faster.
Legopocolypse 2 years ago
WHAT MAXIMA YOU HAVE?
TRELL5044 2 years ago
2000 SE version. It's actually got a smaller 3.0L V6 w/ 222hp :(
The bigger 3.5 w/ 255hp came out two years later... guess I missed out...

YOU CAN BEAT 2000-01 MAX, NOT 03-09

I'd like to have your 5sp AT over my 4sp, the gearing is better and smoother, a bit faster it seems as well

thanks...and to whoever asked this is not the SE-R it's the base SE model 3.5L 250hp/250tq (2007 model)

Why the pause in 3rd gear at 5500rpm.

that's a damn good question I have no idea
I'm not too concerned as this is just my daily driver.

Its how this tranny is. I know its a dd but wow 5th gear really hampers acceleration cause its soo long
basslover352 5 months ago
its the torque converter in the 3rd gear. it locked holding the gear a lil longer.
Damon1420 3 years ago
@occckid123 I know my Volvo did this during hard acceleration to keep the engine at the maximum torque and hp longer.
