@drh4683 hi - are there any rights on it - would need such music for a special video for a customer. but it will be 2 month in the internet. so any chance to use it without problems??
@mrmjb1960 Shame it didn't became a standard (though I'm sure more care would have to be taken into account on your end not to ruin these discs outside normal play).
You know what's sad ('depressing-sad', not 'pathetic-sad')? Even cartoons used to have this kind of music... you know, back when it was all hand-drawn with pencil and paper. Cartoons today... *shudders*.
I think this piece serves as a very accurate reminder of the good, clean, and bright times and beautiful aspirations that America (and to some extent, Europe) has essentially lost. So, thank you for uploading this!
Very reminiscent of the Capitol Hi-Q Production Music Library - this cut may have come from that collection... Sounds like a Hormel or a Loose composition?
Just found this video while looking for an avenue(s) to dispose of the several Seeburg records (blac, blue & red vinyl) I discovered in closing an estate. Great stuff!!
LOL! I was just saying in another video it reminded me of old films in school....."Jane is a nice girl from Johnson street....her mother is a housewife and her father works at the local grocery." They turn and wave at the camera. These are great! I'm sure there would be a market for these if they were put on CD. Every department store had music like this. Such wonderful memories.
This is a production music "cue", often heard in radio and TV commercials and programs in the late '50s, programmed into Seeburg's music library (another one was used on "THE SANDY BECKER SHOW" on New York's WABD in 1956-'57) . I wish I knew what this one was, though....
Sure, not a problem. What is your project about? We had to read the book "catcher in the rye" when I was a junior. For extra credit, our whole junior class made a movie called "catcher in the rye" (which took place in the mid 50's) I think we did a good job too (us A/V nerds made it possible) and I was in charge of picking out the 50's music and vintage props. The music used was stuff similar to this. We tried to make it look like a real 50's movie, edited it and all. It was pretty cool.
@jenniiex0 wow, just use it,ud only hafta worry if it hit cinemas, wake up,you dont have to ask to sample,it a human right, and even IF they caught you and started some nonsense, tell m"can you prove i didnt make this with may progs and instrument, then show m some equipment, stop worryin about copywrite, its a joke
in 1969 this was still the music you heard most in supermarkets and many work places, even most fm stations. i remember this kind of music, and feel that there are psychological reasons why this kind of music was chosen. the world has changed a LOT since then, some for the better some for the worse, personally, i miss this sort of sound, it, like all other music's i like (or dislike) has its place, memories of my childhood for certain (i do not remember rock being omnipresent until the mid 70's)
This music sounded a lot like Tutti Camarata to me and this record was played at 16 RPM and it cannot be played on my GE Wildcat, because it has three speeds instead of four.
The tune sounds like something from 1959. I've always wondered how they played background music before things like muzak service. I was thinking that someone had to go and change out the LP every 20 to 30 minutes.
This music sounds a lot like the kind of background music used on educational films of the 1950's. The RCA record player really handles the 16 speed well.
I just love the 50s. So classy.

The fact these 7" ran at 16 2/3 RPM and carried 40 Songs each side, these were to me The Super-Long Players of their day!

I love this music,it always added a surreal touch to shopping, creating a carefree ethereal sonic landscape that seem to come from some far off planet.
A lot of these tunes were from production music librarys.
Could you tell me what series and number this one is in the seeburg library?

A CD full of this stuff sits in my 60's retro table radio & plays when I'm entertaining.
Turns a date into a real far-out David Lynch scene...I never quite get to that second date, though.....

It's very stunning! I know these 16 RPM for the Seeburg 1000 players owned by shoping centers and jukebox owners. It's very a special invention!
