Good stuff! I need something like this for my truck! I am a volunteer EMT and we're not allowed to have siren tones, unless you're an officer. I would love to mount something like this on my truck. I just would have to figure out a way to mount it so it's not in the way of my light bar on the roof. : - )
yes, the sound is different when using a manual valve instead of a solenoid, the pitch can change when the air pres is lower like when the manual valve is partially open.
Wow that sounds awesome. I live very close to an oil refinery and the supertankers that use fog horns apparently can be heard 9 miles away. (open sea's) 1 thing is for certain when they pull into the estuary when it's foggy you don't sleep, even though there faint the very low tone seems to wake you regardless. I would love to see Mike's next project incorporating a Supertanker fog horn. Great stuff really enjoyable.
Thanks for the positive comment, To answer your question...Yes I have a Supertanker fog horn on the way. It should arrive in about 30 days for me to pick up at the ship dock. I will record a video as soon as I get it and rebuild the horn....Stand by
Hi Mike. Come on up north, and well knock out a few reports across Humboldt bay. There is a large cement wall I use for testing reports about 1\2 mile across the bay, as well as another wooden structure that is approx 60 feet tall. Good reports. Now to get the HornDoctor out here... Merry Christmas. I'll be honkin on newyears with an M3alaKanne, Named, WarBonnet. G'Night.
Hey Mike, was this taken up above Santa Barbara? Kinda looks familiar. Had plans to attend a honk up there a few years ago, but not able to make it. Nice horn, and what looks like a great place to let one loose.
This was at Angeles Crest Highway in Southern California. I too missed the "Santa Barbara Honk". I wish who ever put that event together would do it again. I'd be there with my ship horns.
@BIGMIKESOCAL Just passing through again. Since moved to Denver. Police have NO sense of humor here. Almost lost my P5 and M3 over the Forth of July. No details, but wont be cracking a valve in my own back yard again. Wishing I was back in N. CA sitting on a mountain clearing the dust out. Hope you have better luck then I did.
