BLACK and KillZone are the best First Person Shooters for the Ps2. That is my opinion. What I dont like is that you go through like half the level without a checkpoint.

I bought this game based on reviews, which was a mistake on my part. This was one of the shortest ps2 games I ever played. It's pretty easy also, I give it 5 out of a 10 and that's being generous. I'd say Half-Life, Red Faction, and Killzone are much better.

I think BLACK was just made to show off a demo-mod because everything is destructable. But the weapo, though modeled after true weapons, are weak and have unrealistic capacities. I've counted 4 headshots per elim with a G36 and too many bullets in the mag. Almost evry gun had a 2X mag. The pistol and shotgun were the best guns in the game...
IMO, the best FPS so far is the Half-Life series. Realistic weaponry (besides the future ones), great physics, great story, great games.

Maybe its because i have an xbox. The graphics are good, and i will admit that the gun sounds are amazing, but the way they keep you from backtracking, the visible enemy spawns, the horrendously easy levels that suddenly plummet you into near-impossible fights is unforgivable in my opinion. The fact that you can predict the enemy after the first level is also BS.
If they fixed the bugs, it would be way too easy, and with them, its just frustrating.
at least in the PS2 version, the game is almost perfect. The only bad aspects that might make it a lil' bit frustrating at some points are the lack of save-points and a more decent checkpoints system, the non-sense storyline that is literally thrown at you at the very beggining of the game, and the stupidly large number of shots you must take to kill an enemy. Ah, and the lack of a multiplayer mode is a bit of disapointment... An Online feature would be amazing...
What about the fact that you're a military marine (or whatever) and you can't negotiate your way up a flight of stairs thats missing a step?
Remember what i'm talking about? How they keep you from backtracking by making you walk down a stair that has the very last step missing, and you can't jump or step up to the second step?

timesplitters 2 and future perfect. Only FPS without sights, crosshairs etc. aiming had to become instinctual rather then just putting a marker on a target. Besat MP. Great array of weapons and characters for MP. The replay value of this game was awesome.

If this game had online, then yes. I mean, seriously, they finally make an awesome PS2 FPS with PS3 level graphics, and no online. Graphics wise it wins, FPS wise Battlefield 2:Modern Combat wins. It has the largest online community for PS2.

Killzone was a solid FPS that people bitched about because the graphics were buggy at times. But the gameplay was good, and the storyline was compelling.
I'd definitely rate Black as the best FPS on the PS2, graphically, and trust me, the graphics are even more enhanced if you play it on the PS3.
No way black is no fun. I bought that game and ended up taking it back. The graphics were awesome, but there was no online. If there was it would have been the best online game for ps2. I might get it again but at the time it was just to unrealistic for me. It took like 30 shots to kill some one and the SMGs held like 80 bullets. And you used one clip on just one enemy. I ended up taking it back and getting socom combined assault. Very fun game. Online and off.

Yeah, this game is so awesome, I just wish there were more stages to complete. I 100%'d the game within 2 weeks of owning it and played some levels again, challenging myself to not use the M16A2 while on Black Ops difficulty. Anyways, yeah, this game pwns.
as far as PS2 FPS's go Black was pretty good though there were some that were better. Killzone hit's near top list despite some flaws and lose ends regarding multiplayer. ghost recon was decent depending on how you played it but for the most part an FPS is best enjoyed in arcade style making Timesplitters one of the best for the PS2. really though it's just preference and everyones going to have a diffrent opinion on whats good and whats not.
black was a great game, there aren't many fps games on the ps2 that are actually worth buying. Killzone is probably the only game that comes close to black. I have a 360 now so i like halo 3, gears of war, cod4, army of two, and others. ps2 is retarded now.

If Black is perfect, it has to be in the technical aspects. The best graphics and visual effects you have ever seen on a ps2 game, the best sound effects on a FPS game, and one of the most intense shooting experiences ever.

If this game had online, then yes. I mean, seriously, they finally make an awesome PS2 FPS with PS3 level graphics, and no online. Graphics wise it wins, FPS wise Battlefield 2:Modern Combat wins. It has the largest online community for PS2.

Killzone was a solid FPS that people bitched about because the graphics were buggy at times. But the gameplay was good, and the storyline was compelling.
I'd definitely rate Black as the best FPS on the PS2, graphically, and trust me, the graphics are even more enhanced if you play it on the PS3.

No way black is no fun. I bought that game and ended up taking it back. The graphics were awesome, but there was no online. If there was it would have been the best online game for ps2. I might get it again but at the time it was just to unrealistic for me. It took like 30 shots to kill some one and the SMGs held like 80 bullets. And you used one clip on just one enemy. I ended up taking it back and getting socom combined assault. Very fun game. Online and off.

Wow how could you say that. At least socom has online play. Black bored the hell out of me, man. That game was just a run and gun shooter with some awesome graphics, nothing else. I have no regret for taking that game back.

Yeah, this game is so awesome, I just wish there were more stages to complete. I 100%'d the game within 2 weeks of owning it and played some levels again, challenging myself to not use the M16A2 while on Black Ops difficulty. Anyways, yeah, this game pwns.

as far as PS2 FPS's go Black was pretty good though there were some that were better. Killzone hit's near top list despite some flaws and lose ends regarding multiplayer. ghost recon was decent depending on how you played it but for the most part an FPS is best enjoyed in arcade style making Timesplitters one of the best for the PS2. really though it's just preference and everyones going to have a diffrent opinion on whats good and whats not.

black was a great game, there aren't many fps games on the ps2 that are actually worth buying. Killzone is probably the only game that comes close to black. I have a 360 now so i like halo 3, gears of war, cod4, army of two, and others. ps2 is retarded now.
