  • How can i make something like this?

  • SRSLY?? ARE THIS REAL ? WOW it looks so scifi :D

  • oyher than the fact that its slow it is a realy cool thing actually doing what a human can do in like 10 days to a year in like an hour or two

  • Excellent coding, with some slick engineering budget you could have the speed up in no time!

  • wait did he build that out of legos?

  • if you look close at 3:00 - 3:07 you will see something special happens to the cube. U HAVE TO LOOK VERY CLOSLY!

  • @kamidami12 omg he replaced it

  • The human hands reaching in to make adjustments totally destroys the magic of this.

  • Hi check what we've done with a NXT and other devices. Have fun! /watch?v=AA1DMef4cwI

  • how long did it actually take the robot to do all 29 moves it looks like, by the speed its moving at 1x it took a good hour or so but how long did it really take?

  • what do you study? robotics? mechanical engineering?

  • omfg is that made out of legos! i see there is nothing we can't do with legos. maybe the next time someone drops and atomic bomb all the little kids will have toys to play with =). And it started going fast. did you speed it up?

    !!!!!

  • omfg is that made out of legos! i see there is nothing we can't do with legos. maybe the next time someone drops and atomic bomb all the little kids will have toys to play with =).

    !!!!!

  • by the time it turns one side i have the cube solved

  • haha that was KNARLY! Now just put in metal gears, and a Castle Creations Mamba Monster ESC and a brushless motor in it! lol

  • dude what can´t you do with lego?^^

  • hand!!!

  • What was the actual solving time it took?

  • a little late but is that software you made your self

  • great combination of algo nd machinery???

  • lol shuffle XD

  • how long did it take for it to solve it?

  • bravo.

  • lego FTW

  • Check out the cube stormer, no entering, much faster.

  • That is SO FRIGGING AWESOME.

  • i bit boring.. its a nice robot but is damn slow!

  • Very well done.

    Congrats!

  • 32X speed is a good speed...

  • It is not so great

One of my friend has done a robot which analyse itself the cube and solves it ...

  • not a hoax? you did not mix it up in a certain way?

    very cool still

  • you should oil your cube

this would allow you to make the robot faster

    (i had the same problem)

  • Perhaps it is... too clever.

  • WOW how u do that tht is a smart robot

  • Dramatic end

  • it is a clever robot

  • next step in real time image processing lol nice though

  • I think this is one of the best LEGO Rubik's cube solvers out there because I think it was the first - impressive. Take a look at some of the others that I've favourited on my channel (click on my name above)

  • You should take a look at the latest LEGO "Cubestormer" on the RoboticSolutions channel (go via my channel if you like). I guess it was originally inspired by this design but is incredibly fast! :-)

  • kinda slow. just get erik akkersdijk (the world champion rubix cuber) to do it for you in 7 seconds :D

  • lol play it fast...you see the whole structure moves over the course of the video...lots of vibrations? =P

    very awesome creation dude!

only other one i've seen is a virtual rubix cube solver made by my friend on C++

but i like yours more =P

  • I really like the mechanic, but it's a little bit slow, even for an solver build out of LEGO...

  • Maybe to slow but is lego made idiot's

  • very, very goood! I do have one thing to suggest. try using the color sensor to read the cube instead of putting in the colors.

  • lego

  • could be faster. Nice code tho bro!

  • Dommage que le système soit un peu lent mais aussi vraiment beau boulot

  • genial!

  • Comment removed

  • have to give you props... making a robot outta legos is a task on its own

  • ITS LEGOS LOL!!

  • wow, pretty impressive :P

  • Good effort mate, its not the speed that matters its the error free code! Nice work :)

  • Incredibly slow.

  • @prosper58

    can you do it better?

  • Yes, in fact, my record is 48 seconds.

  • what i meant is

can you build a piece of machinery faster then that?

  • I didn't say anything about building it. The building of it was an amazing feat.

  • its waaaaaay too slow

  • This robot too slow and no eyes too.

  • wow must have taken hours to finish

  • the algorithm knows the solution from the start based on entered cube configuration? or is the solution being updated on every move?

  • sorry, i just thought about that question and realized it was stupid.

  • do you have the building instructions and source codes and all that for me to try and build this project for my school too...it would be awesome if you have these...and also will you let me know about the parts list and how many are standard and how many should be bought...we have a fairly good collection of parts here but just in case...thank you in advance

  • That is one awsome machine congrats did you program and make it O.o i want one of those too like in the other videos i commented on XD

  • It's all programmed from scratch, algorithm based on Herbert Kociemba 2 phase method

  • @ranulfgreen Can you controll something like this with Scratch? Is it using a scratchboard or something?

  • What is this sort of lego ? Is it expensive ?

    really great job !

How much time does it really take to do it ?

  • This is technic lego with the RCX 1.0, I am looking into buying a set whith 825 pieces and 1 RCX 1.0 and it will cost $600 AUD. It would take a long time to make a rubics cube solver but to make a simple car it would take half an hour maybe. You will either need to get a program that codes the RCX 1.0 for you or learn the coding yourself. The codes are rather easy. I think the best program for doing the coding for you would be ROBOLAB.

  • This one uses Java on the laptop (notice the swing interface) and LeJOS to communicate with the RCX)

  • no you want an nxt, rcx is just too out dated

  • No idea since I didn't pay!

  • @Engeki Lego technic

  • Though it is very interesting, It's not practical.

  • dued im not tryin to be mean but is that thing made of legos or something.

  • you should have made it not have those turn 1 hand back then both forward things.. and use smaller gears so it moves faster..

  • Never tell someone how to make their robot unless they ask for help. He wont care what your opinion is.

i think this robot is amazing good job!

  • gearing is slow since the cube is quite resistive and the lego motors aren't powerful enough.

However, you are right about the extra turns, purely due to the simplicity of the programme that converts a list of face moves to actual robot moves.

  • @ranulfgreen you could have made an gearbox and used 2 motors simultaneously to give the power and the last one to change the gears.

  • how much did the robot take to solve the cube?

  • about 40 minutes

  • woops. i just skipped the the part where it solves it

  • Comment removed

  • No, it's not fake (I did the filming). The colours are entered by hand at the start.

  • he types in what colours are on the cube with a computer,Then the computer comes up with a solution and tells the robot what to do.

  • Comment removed

  • dude, i said in another comment here that i skipped to the part where it solved it,

  • i watched the part when the hand entered many times over.. it seems to me that it wasn't strait and all the hand did was straiten it.

  • I can't really tell if it's fake, but something strange happens between 3:00 and 3:10.

  • 2:50 and upwards he use his hand

  • its a fake at exzactly 3mins.03sec u see a hand and it is in fast moition so its kinda hard to see but look closly and u see his hand put another in and it is almost done this video is a FAKE but the robot is kinda kool is it ALL legos

  • the robot probly got stuck and he needed to ajust the cube.

  • slow

  • cheat!

you should use proper sensores and have the robot detect what colors the cube has X3

    but still cool :3

  • what a slow machine..

  • It's legos, who cares

  • It's made out of legos. What do you expect?

  • just really start to watch when it gets to three minutes the u will see a hand go in and then out the cube will look almost solved

  • so totally saw when u took out the cube and practically solved it then put it back in :P

  • why is it so slow it took like three days to finish omg lol

  • You're exaggerating too much, it as only like 3 minutes.

  • awesome

  • hmm its quite slow i would suggest switching the gear ratios , but perhaps it wouldnt have enough torque...hm?

  • pretty effin sik to be doin it wit legoz!!!

  • awesome, but a little slow...

so, how long was the total solving time?

  • legos can only move so fast... lol

  • You'd be P**sed if someone put it in the wrong way or something. The machine would be like, TADA! like a dog thats ripped up your pillows :)

  • Wow, great job !! Congratulations for putting so much efforts into this.

And for those leaving stupid remarks, go get yourself a life cause this guy has a great one ahead..

  • ur just jealous and stop hating u fag.

  • you are crazy...

  • to prove it the shadows in the background moved alll the time fake fake fake fake alll hes go to show is bilding somthing my 8 year old brother can do

  • ... he had it sped up to 64x of course the shadows are going to move

  • its called people walking?

  • wow you spelt building wrong lol

  • this is fake it was all pictures

  • no it wasn't...

  • i hope your kidding...

  • bull

  • Youd be surprised at what you missed during that 1000 year sleep you took lil guy.. ffs think before you fail.

  • Does the machine sense what the initial configuration of the rubix cube is or is that something you type into your computer? Also what 2 phase algorithm is it using?

  • In answer to your questions, firstly, the machine does not 'sense' the initial cube configuration, you have to enter these details into the network diagram as shown in the video. The algorithm used is bespoke to the system. It is a loose implementation of the A* algorithm with iterative deepening but does not use a proper pruning table, instead it uses a 1 bit matching table. I.E. phase 1 is split into 2 parts, part one achieved by reaching a match in the pruning table.

  • bravo....

  • HOW DID U DU THAT?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i beat the robot!

  • pretty sweet good job on the programming u must love computers and legos!! thats a good combo right there lol!!!

  • that was long but that thing is crazy.. (as in awesomeness.. ) hehe

  • dude you made the machine?

  • The only problem (and it isn't a big one at that) is how slow it is. I would try using a different combination of gears to increase the speed at which the arms rotate, and then modify the code around to compensate for it.

Other then that, this is awesome!

  • why do you made it so slow... to turn the rubiks is not so heavy...

  • english fail

  • Comment removed

  • lol

Why do not you went to learn some english first!

  • this is awsome, all tho even that I see it took long time to do, u should not have spent so much time in a rubiks solver if you already know hot to solve it. good job man, five stars.

  • hey all of you that are bashing this guy i'd like to see you do it

  • Very cool!

  • it was low at first but that is really cool that you were able to do that

  • guys he did this with legos LEGOS!!! this must have taken a long time to create and write the computer program for it so all of you bashing him is very uncalled for and for your information since he created the program he must know how to solve a rubix cube in many diffrent ways or else it wouldnt work please think before you comment

  • if you have nothing good to say, dont say anything.

  • You should make it so it can use the light scanner to scan the cube itself

  • lol if you did not speed it up it would take

    ALL

    FUCKING

    DAY!!!

    XDDD

  • looks like Danny's fully automated Lego Rubik's cube solver is more simple

  • how long did it take to solve it without the fast fowarding?

  • yea how long did the robot take?

  • v nice... but why does ur hand go in at 3:03 and nxt thing the cube's practically solved?

  • Very nice

  • sweet

  • NICE KOOL!

  • That's awesome.

  • sir you are genius

  • that lego bot is a gear beast.

  • or solve it on your own

  • slowm but cool robot and program. is this a set or did you make it on your own? if you did, im very impressed

  • This is a fuck you from nerds nowaday to nerds from back in the day.

  • Forgot to mention, 5 stars. And it looks like KNEX. xD

  • it legos

  • if you glance at it it looks like you made it with legos. LOL

  • that is ridiculously cool!!! should make it see the colors on its own. And maybe faster if you can. But still, helluva lot better than i could do. I bet mine would turn the cube around a few times then fall apart.

  • You should make it celebrate when it's finished.

  • yeah it should like burst into flames or crush the rubiks cube when finished lol

  • Our punch you in the face why you try steal its hard earned, solved cube.

  • becuze i falt like itz

  • Or* :$

  • very awsome but im sure you could make it run faster one way or another

  • sloooooooooooooooooooooow... you seriously couldnt have made it any faster?

  • its really hard to make a rubix cube solver out out legos any faster then that

  • it has to do with the cog size

  • Is it rely made out of lego???

    PS-5/5 favorite sub.;)

  • not fake. You can really do this. I have lego mindstorm too =D

  • looks like id be easier to just figure it out urself

  • true.

  • nice, kool

  • no its not...

  • how the hell would you fake that????

  • u cud see at 3:03 his hand goes in where it hasnt been edited properly and nxt thing ya know...the cube's practically solved
