Freddie said himself that there is no point to winning a gold medal, because amateur boxing doesn't have the prestige that it once did in the U.S. Most guys reaching the top now a days don't have any medals, showing that it's not necessary to reach stardom. Personally, I think the ams are a joke now.
Well when is the last time the US has even won a gold medal in boxing i think that winning a gold medal is important because its vs other countrys that you have to compete against in the olympics.
But the amateurs teach young boxers bad habits. In the pros, you're supposed to go in their and try to do damage to your opponent, in the ams, you just go in their and try to land a big wide shot so the judges will give you a point with their clicker. Gay.
@xerxes465 amateur boxing requires more skill then profesional boxing lil man. its what boxing is all about hit and dont get hit. but pro boxing is more cutout for the tough guy. thaats why khan has been exposed.

yea i agree with some of the others he get's hit way too much witch is the problem with alot of mexican fighters all offence and no defence.If they bring him up right and we all know freddy roach is great at match makeing he will more then likely be champ one day but I dont see greatness just a early hype job...

junior is too young to be turning pro, frankie whooped him, the one to look after in the future should be frankie, not junior who´s moving way to fast.
good jabs and head movement based on other videos. but he really does have a bad habit of lowering his guard. elite fighters can take advantage of that but then again he just turned pro Dec 2009! under roach he will be a great champ!!
