@FaustVandrake two of them wreck shop! It fills like one is cheating with two Crissaegrim and two Ring of Varda! Raaaaaha it bumps my attack power up to 172 but they just swing so fast it's cheesy. I like using the Fist of Tulkas, their more powerful then Crissaegrim but not as fast. Unless you use its special move. There cool as hell! Plus you can use throw weapon while preforming its special. I also love two Chakram. One can throw two at a time in one hand so you can throw four of them.
@TheOtc99 It's not the "W" Demon it's the N Demon. It talks more then the Demon and has almost a human face. As far as the difference between the two I'm not sure. I think the N Demon has a chance to attack more then once at a time.
I like using two Heaven sword together every now and then. They have a badass special attack.

6:48 The wolf is actually very useful; you can get into the run starting with the charge (just hold forward after charge), plus if you hold up then jump you jump higher (it even swims [triangle]). There are plenty of places to use wolf run: the Entrance, "the long hallway" of the The Marble Gallery (reverse as well), the Chapel (it begs for the wolf [&reverse]), Library, Catacombs (&reverse), Castle Keep, Olrox's Quarters (&reverse), and the Reverse Lakes. It gets ridiculously fast.
@LouisKoo112345 I got the psp too...The version is actually the saturn version thats why it has extras and everything except for the underground garden and the prison....
@konimaru02 No it's actually the PSP version.The saturn version is totally different: Maria is different, there's the two new areas, Godspeed boots (lets you run like Richter as alucard), etc. I played both, and basically the key feature of DXC ver of SOTN is Maria; which although I found fun wasn't quite as good as her saturn counter part. I just wish they'd done a better job on the port, but they threw in enough stuff to make up for it. Being that I play it on emulator I have good frame rates.
I've already beaten Richter but I have to restart my game from my last save point! How do I get into the room behind the Richter battle arena without fighting him again?

If you didnt , you get them in the tower by the big clock , there equip gold and silver ring , then u get glasses from maria , equipt hem and face richter , then you see a green thingy floatin , what controls richter , kill that thing and u see it was shaft , then u go to the inverted castle , :P
the holy sword has a special attack, face to the right then quickly push left and immediately right then square, it should create a bright flash and slash, many weapons have specials, not only holding down and push forward then square
Dude this is by far my favorite Castlevania game. I just got it for Christmas and I love it. I have a question though. Why are you waiting to show all these secrets after you beat the game? I am at the part where you fight Richter but I'm level grinding and exploring a bit befor I do that and I have already found quite a few of these "Secrets" already. I love the Super Metroid feel that this game has I guess that's why it's sometimes referred to as Castletroid.
@Mspolytarpolin One side opens when the clock is a certain time... I think its midnight but I could be wrong. I think the other side opens when you use the clock secondary weapon thing (the one that freezes enemies)
@HypergothAngel No the version that you are playing is different. Nothing is wrong per say but you are either playing an original Japanese version or the new released version on the Dracula X PSP Game. Go to the PSnetwork and download it from the Playstation One Classics Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and that one is identical to the one you see here.
How the hell would you ever find out about the bat/wolf transform-in-tunnel secret if you weren't showed or told!?
LOVE this game, my fave in the Castlevania series is Dawn of Sorrow on the DS, but this one, Rondo of Blood (PCE) and Portrait of Ruin (DS) all come a joint second place imho.

@bensons999 i never had to do the bat/wolf thing. thats the first time i've seen that version of the trick. i always just ran back and forth with the wolf, which is much easier to figure out lol

@HERZELEIT ring of varda is in the inverted castle the big gold skelletons near the library ring of arcana is found in the original castle where u fight slogra (the first boss) use the bat skill to fly up

when u beat the game and after the credits were done did u go back to your last save point and it's saying you still haven't beaten richter. because it got me so mad.
weird my attack goes from 44 with the star flail to 55 with the holy sword... an increase of 11 points hmmm... also i have a "medal" instead of the mystic pendant but that only raises attack 1 point... strange
Aria of Sorrow is probably the best, but it takes place in the future, so it has its share of guns, but there are swords too, which sounds wierd, but it works quite well. Symphony is still the best by far in my opinion
The only good ones I can think of are Aria of Sorrow for the GBA and any of the DS ones, those are all good ;) Dawn of Sorrow is a seque to Aria and then there's Portrait of Ruin which is actually a seque to bloodlines on the Genesis and finally there's Order of Ecclesia which is also very good, I would say Order of Ecclesia is Castlevania 2 (NES) but good, you start with the village, go through different stages, but the Village is always the central hub, coming back for Qs and stuff
Ecclesia is quite difficult aswell It was nice to have a challenge since I did die alot. It also has an good and bad ending which you need to fullfill certain critera to gain. But yeah it is probally the best Castlevania game on the DS.
I've played all of the gameboy advance Castlevania games and Nintendo DS games that have come after SOTN, and they still reuse all of the original enemies from SOTN... with the exception of Order of Ecclesia (which itself isn't half bad). I'm very hopeful for Lords of Shadow, looks like a Gothic version of God of War!!!

The only thing I hate about this game is getting cool shit and having to use the internet, somewhere, to figure out how to use them. I guessed on the gravity boots, thinking about fighting game's super jumps.
the game was cool but I thought it was lame how you couldn't seel any of the extra items and how Richter doesn't get a health extensions or get to use any of the cool items, just his whip.
ok very annoyed.. the top where it t's in the inverted castle in the middle you see the yellow warp point to the left of that you see that long hallway it's a cavern and it has the water in it i have touched everything around that hallway and it will not complete the hallway i have like 5 spots on top my head that will not show that i have been there am i doing something wrong is it a glitch? what can i do? hint it has the flower woman and the mermen in it that shot the lazors help!!!!!
That "sounds" like the area where you need to use the wolf to swim up to the top area, and you should be able to register those last map parts. I think one of the videos, probably around 30 or so, I did that portion.

theres an inverted part of the castle if you kill the invisible orb above richters head, like quite above his head, use either the holy goggles or glasses to see it.
in the PSP version you get the N Demon Card instead of the Holy Sword in the first secret area you show on your video and where's the Sword Card in the PSX version you get the Fairy Card instead
I must say that the fairy is the only familiar worth using with the possible exception of the sword. Her use of the life apple and hammer is absolutely clutch.

you need to get a certain amount of the castle discovered and you need holy glasses or goggles to fight richter cause there is this floating orb controlling him once you do that you can re-do the castle...inverted lol.
Anyways, i wish Konami would bring out another traditional Castlevania game..I know there's Chronicals for the PSP...but a console version would be nice.

...Yet some of the boss battles felt sloppy and fighting Richard at the end felt so anticlimatic, you'd think it would of been epic or longer. But ya, i feel like Super Castlevania IV blew this game to pieces....But that's not exactly fair to say, since the previous Castlevania games before SOTN were more based on Platforming skills, there were no RPG Elements to them, or metroid-like exploring gameplay, since they were level based and were Linear...
I missed out on SOTN back in the PSOne days...But I did play the non 'Metroidvania' Castlevania games back in the Nes and Snes days and of course loved them...But I gotta say, after beating SOTN, i felt so unsatisfied..and dissapointed. But it's probably because I hated the RPG elements, the countless items and spells ect. What can I say, I just don't like RPG games and RPG elements when added to games. On the flipside, the music, graphics, controls and some of the boss Battles were great....
You don't "have" to, but considering it has it's own ending entirely and I'm sure a lot of people, including myself, got that ending then asked wtf, I figured it'd be best to show it before moving on.
He's talking about the Nose Demon familiar. It's available in the Saturn and Playstation Store version of SotN. It "might" be in the PSP version, but I don't believe it is.
Very nice video. I'm sure it helps a lot of newbie to the game out. I enjoyed watching another old school player.

if you input the same command used to use skill of wolf, aka the hadoken, you can use a cool attack with the holy sword.

I got the Holy Sword where it was suppose to be but it has 5 more attack then the knuckles, no complaints though.
It puts me at 55 atk at lvl 31.

when u beat the game and after the credits were done did u go back to your last save point and it's saying you still haven't beaten richter. because it got me so mad.

weird my attack goes from 44 with the star flail to 55 with the holy sword... an increase of 11 points hmmm... also i have a "medal" instead of the mystic pendant but that only raises attack 1 point... strange

Aria of Sorrow is probably the best, but it takes place in the future, so it has its share of guns, but there are swords too, which sounds wierd, but it works quite well. Symphony is still the best by far in my opinion

The only good ones I can think of are Aria of Sorrow for the GBA and any of the DS ones, those are all good ;) Dawn of Sorrow is a seque to Aria and then there's Portrait of Ruin which is actually a seque to bloodlines on the Genesis and finally there's Order of Ecclesia which is also very good, I would say Order of Ecclesia is Castlevania 2 (NES) but good, you start with the village, go through different stages, but the Village is always the central hub, coming back for Qs and stuff

Ecclesia is quite difficult aswell It was nice to have a challenge since I did die alot. It also has an good and bad ending which you need to fullfill certain critera to gain. But yeah it is probally the best Castlevania game on the DS.

I've played all of the gameboy advance Castlevania games and Nintendo DS games that have come after SOTN, and they still reuse all of the original enemies from SOTN... with the exception of Order of Ecclesia (which itself isn't half bad). I'm very hopeful for Lords of Shadow, looks like a Gothic version of God of War!!!

It's a different approach:
SOTN and games following it took a Metroid type approach to gameplay.
LOI has the Devil May Cry type approach.
LOS seems to have a God of War type approach.

The only thing I hate about this game is getting cool shit and having to use the internet, somewhere, to figure out how to use them. I guessed on the gravity boots, thinking about fighting game's super jumps.

ok very annoyed.. the top where it t's in the inverted castle in the middle you see the yellow warp point to the left of that you see that long hallway it's a cavern and it has the water in it i have touched everything around that hallway and it will not complete the hallway i have like 5 spots on top my head that will not show that i have been there am i doing something wrong is it a glitch? what can i do? hint it has the flower woman and the mermen in it that shot the lazors help!!!!!

That "sounds" like the area where you need to use the wolf to swim up to the top area, and you should be able to register those last map parts. I think one of the videos, probably around 30 or so, I did that portion.

in the area were you get the relic for double jumping in hte upper part where you get a opal or some shit like that the wall can be break and you get a healing item
the sword is in that same spot in the reverse castle

theres an inverted part of the castle if you kill the invisible orb above richters head, like quite above his head, use either the holy goggles or glasses to see it.

in the PSP version you get the N Demon Card instead of the Holy Sword in the first secret area you show on your video and where's the Sword Card in the PSX version you get the Fairy Card instead

you need to get a certain amount of the castle discovered and you need holy glasses or goggles to fight richter cause there is this floating orb controlling him once you do that you can re-do the castle...inverted lol.

...Yet some of the boss battles felt sloppy and fighting Richard at the end felt so anticlimatic, you'd think it would of been epic or longer. But ya, i feel like Super Castlevania IV blew this game to pieces....But that's not exactly fair to say, since the previous Castlevania games before SOTN were more based on Platforming skills, there were no RPG Elements to them, or metroid-like exploring gameplay, since they were level based and were Linear...

I missed out on SOTN back in the PSOne days...But I did play the non 'Metroidvania' Castlevania games back in the Nes and Snes days and of course loved them...But I gotta say, after beating SOTN, i felt so unsatisfied..and dissapointed. But it's probably because I hated the RPG elements, the countless items and spells ect. What can I say, I just don't like RPG games and RPG elements when added to games. On the flipside, the music, graphics, controls and some of the boss Battles were great....

He's talking about the Nose Demon familiar. It's available in the Saturn and Playstation Store version of SotN. It "might" be in the PSP version, but I don't believe it is.
