I have just come in on this while searching music on a radio Skye ad Aug'10. This is not the one; but; am glad I stopped by. Surely the title gives the clue to a piece eluding to the fabulous classic, mathematical proportions the Italian architect ''Palladio'' gave to his buildings, and who has been copied worldwide. Karl Jenkins, perhaps, is admitting he's mimicing the boroque style with this composition.
As a future composer I hope to bring back the whole idea of concertos with Soloists and Strings like from baroque time. Vivaldi inspires me and so does this concerto. Though I think the whole thing needs alot more solos in it. especially the 1st and 3rd movements. Strings are just plain Awesome.
It's a shame people my age (20's) don't understand how much emotion and writing goes into a melody of this magnitude. The only newer music that's composed is electronic. Then the lyrics are the same sentence over and over. Sometimes words aren't nessesary, just a beautiful flow that tells a story. What ever it may be.
This is really great, a most delightful presentation of both pictures and music - thank you so much for the scenes and sounds it has been much appreciated.
This is an AWSOME pice of music, I love it. If you want to hear w/drum beat search Allegretto-Electra (its good) its kinda like the one on Britan's got Talent w/Sacala.
this sort of song makes me wana run and run over roff tops and feel invinsibal, do you know what i mean, stick headphones on and just run, but it needs like 2/4 or 4/4 drum beat snare and bass and omg this song would be the best ever.
It sounds like winter by Vivaldi it has the same tempo but it has this air of mystery and its more cheerful this is the best version of this song ive ever heard
I'm not sure why, but for some reason this song reminds me of the movie version of The Phantom of the Opera. In my head I see the ballerinas walking down the stairs...(like in the beginning of the movie)
I ran into this because we're playing this in marching band this year and I wanted to get an idea of what we're playing.
WOW! I love this song. It's soon to be on my dear iPod... *winkwink*
The music is'nt from any movie. It was used in 'De Beers' advert however. Its from Palladio a three movement peice for string orchestra by Karl Jenkins.
By the way DaMum plese could you put on the third movement of this on you tube, I can't find it.

@StuDanToni lol It's amazing how a rap styled song from JMT went perfectly with a modern classical track.

But at least one "Kultur-Barbar" was sincerely carried away past 1.20...
Thanks for posting, DaMum!
