The can should be upsidedown. Then just light the edge of the firelighter and run back at least 10 m. Theres a fence where we do it so we always go behind the fence. Some deodrant cans explode through the nozzle, which is alot safer. If your incredibly unlucky the nozzle may not let enough pressure out and it explodes internally. In this case you can have it break up, hurling fragments of cans to radiuses of 10ish feet, moving at a velocity great enough to wedge it into a tree. Great enough to kill somebody. It untterly depends on the deodrant can your using, and the way your planning to detonate it. Lynx produces a safe upwards explosion, due to plastic cap

What do you think happens to the metal can that the aerosol is? The fragments fly off and yes it could kill them. All it takes is shards to hit you in the wrong places and you die.
I'm not saying what you did was stupid, i love playing with fire. Exploding deoderant cans is fun, the stupid thing was how close you all got.
Tbh explode some more stuff and put it on Youtube, i'd love to watch it. Just don't kill yourself by doing things that close :P

15ft killing Radius means there is a possibility of death within 15ft of the explosion. Thats because the first 15ft is where if you get hit by any peice of metal, it COULD be fatal. Anything beyond 15ft is pretty much harmless.
So yeah, don't be a dick if you don't have a substantial education to back it up.
