i think the fire was an insurance scam by the owner so he could build a new pier

the new pier is much better but still would have liked to see the old pier up and running

@crashinator1001 i agree 100% with you. investigation came back as unknown but presume it was some electrics on the second floor. Havent been to the new one yet but its a shame a piece of history has gone.

@jammyman78 Guardian news attributed it to deep fryers, but I think with all aging infrastructure that has been remodeled at one point or another, it becomes sensitive to electrical overloads.
