Our language is not a dialect! It is a 7000 year old Lebanese spontaneous generation. Our Lebanese vernacular is a Phoenician dialect, not an Arabic dialect. Its nice to see evidence of a cultural renaissance taking place in one of the great historical Mediterranean powers. The Phoenicians contributed a lot to western civilization and that deserves to be recognized.
I also think it would help stem the preference for pan Arabism or pan islamism in the region, which only serves to prevent any kind of cultural or national unity, as well as inhibiting trade, the one thing the Phoenicians above all others thrived on.

@olkali8 No, there is NO evidence on this at all. HomoNeanderthalis is one of seven or more distinct hominid species that existed around the same time. All but Homo Sapiens have died out. Latest research shows that there was however a little intermingling, as all humans descended from the first humans who left Africa contain between 0.000001% and 4% Neanderthal DNA.
