  • @Elevationary the mikmaq are mostly located in isolated areas such as close to east bay and iona, whycocomagh, near st. peter's. the acadian irish and english are scattered all over the island. Beautiful place ill tell you that bi

  • @AlwynJeddore Thanks.......

  • @yarg2

Makes me wish I lived in Cape Breton...Or, at least, a lot closer to it.

  • I tried learning Moxam's Castle by ear but my brain isn't quick enough to pick up all those notes! Would anyone have any sheet music for it lying around?

  • Moxham's Castle is a Dan R. MacDonald tune - it's in his Heather Hill collection, well worth picking up!

  • this put a big smile on my face! love these two! Marie B.

  • Beautifully played. Amazing fiddling! I must make up to Eastern Canada.

  • Great Stuff!

  • whats the first tune?

  • the first tune is called moxam's castle

  • Munlochy Bridge is the tune before Lady Georgina Campbell

  • minchia,chissà i vicini di casa

  • I love it!!!

  • The second reel (third tune) is known in Ireland as George White's favourite.

  • good playing, it's a standard set. Cape Breton fiddlers never really play any tunes different than these lol. It's just what was passed onto them by their family.

  • First of all Cape Breton fiddlers know more tunes than probably anybody in the world...lets take buddy macmaster for example he know every tune from here to scotland... and there is no eally standard set..

  • Don't you be hating on Cape Breton fiddler's you!! :P

  • Duke of Gordon's Birthday is the strathspey before Lady Georgina Campbell. Don't know what the next reel is, then it's Paddy on the Turnpike. I think the last one is Lord Seaforth.

  • Sounds Fantastic... man, I wish I were there ; )

  • If you live in, or around, southeastern Wisconsin, these two will be coming in February, along with Kimberley Fraser! They'll be playing concerts in Madison and Milwaukee and teaching workshops and playing a dance in Wauwatosa!

  • Andrea Beaton...hell the entire Beaton family! Incredible! Anyone know the names of the tunes here?

  • the first is Moxham Castle, I * believe * the 3rd is Lady Georgina Campbell's. I think....

and the rest, well they all sound familiar but I can't place them.
