Wrong, it is Nitro. Pro classes are the only ones with no requirement for class designation on car. Hard to hear over invasive music, but the sound is obviously nitro, Launching from dead idle, centrifugal clutch.

but funny car, holy cow, seems like the G-forces would make the throttle, clutch and shifting a challenge in itself..

Centrifugal clutch, two speed air shift or direct-drive, no low. Barrel valve fuel metering, instant wide open, hard to backpedal. Almost all the control is in the clutch adjustment, easy to get wrong.
