The only reason why college is so expensive is because the federal government provided government-backed loans to students attending college, so there is virtually no limit on how much the colleges can charge students for attending. Government interference is why the college tuitions are so high. If the free-market was allowed to work, college tuition prices would be dropping and affordable because of the competition.
College is indeed expensive. Brand new book released last week that I believe all students and graduates should read. "You Have A College Degree, Now What?" is what its called.
