@lilrockercutie2005 Oh that rocks...I didn't know he went that far back...Waddy is one of those awesome guitarists who never make the great guitarist lists...just like Ace Frehley and Nuno Bettencourt.
I can't believe I found this! I was maybe 16-17...? And yes, Lindsey is absolutely at his best on this lp. Some of the guitar work he did on this record cannot be duplicated...he is truly unmatchable! And they were such a harmonious pair!!!
You can download this album for free on many sites or buy a nice CD with the original album plus all the unreleased studio and live tracks with a nice cover and all at blalocksgaragemusic on the web.
Iin response to 'this is why Mr Fleetwoodasked B\N to join his band is FALSE......actually Mick only wanted LINDSEY(because they needed a guitarist)....but he wouldn't join F.M. unless they took Stevie too!!!! GREAT call!!!! KUDOS!!!!!
That's the story I had always heard as well but a British documentary, Fleetwood Mac: Unbroken Chain (2004), made the opposite claim: that Fleetwood wanted Nicks and only took Buckingham since he was part of the package.
Like many, I had multiple copies of this album. we were bummed when they joined Fleetwood Mac. they were big in phoenix because Stevie had ties to the valley. Was truly a special, magical album and we all knew it at the time.
You are right @txeire. In my opinion, joining the Mac was a step down artistically. I know they were a huge hit and made a ton of money, but only a few of the Mac songs were of similar caliber as BN.
Hard to believe this album didn't sell well back in the day and the record company dropped them after this recording. I know B&N own this album now. I think Lindsey's holding up the release. I'm pretty sure Stevie is in favor of releasing it again.
had this album as well.....Loved it...Lindsay Buckingham is one of THE most underrated guitarists of all time....Both of these people had so much talent...never have been able to find this on a CD..and I have tried often over the years...We just had THE BEST MUSIC....!! Beats the crap out there now. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
bought this album in the early seventies, wore it out, then purchased a couple of cassettes, those wear too. thanks so much for posting, definitly a CLASSIC, all the songs are great on this LP
I had this album a LONG time ago;sold it to a co-worker who was a really avid fan.Sorry I did;it was the gatefold vinyl, and hearing this brings back good memories. This one was my fave, thanks for putting out here!
How in the world does such talent come from this woman? The lyrics & music are soooo extreemely beautiful on this album. It leaves me speechless. Can any1 explain this to me cause Im totally stumped.Jaw-dropping.If I could write just 1 song in the world,it would be this 1.How can lyrics & music fit so well 2gether like this?2 me,this song is the 8th wonder of the world.Perfection at its best. Please you 2,put this out on cd.The whole album.I've been amazed w/this song since I was 11 yrs old. Im 47
To me Stevie, and Lindsey are 2 seperate beings. But when their music can be heard from anywhere you are, you realize they become one being, musically.
You love somebody, save their soul. Tie them to your heaven erase their hell. Love the lifestyle if you feel it. Don t try to change them, you never will. Sunflowers and your face fascinate me. You go into the dusty pink day. I come calling onto you but you run. You re the winner, the long distance winner. Stevie Nicks' voice is unique and the lyrics are great. Love the sunflowers too.
Yes, I wish more people knew about this album, in fact I own two!!! Each and every song is fabulous! They both were at the top of their game, makes me wonder what would have happened to their love if not for Fleetwood Mac??? Guess it's like an unwanted child, can't go back and still love 'em!
whoever shot this album down does not know much about good music and the harmony is just out of this world. Love to have them do this album someday on stage together and put it out on cd. before its to late.
@txeire I love most Fleetwood Mac (before and after B&N) but this record is absolutely superb. Almost every song on it is a masterpiece. I wish more people knew about it.
hey...i just heard this song a few days ago and was blown away... the feeling stevie nicks gives me when she sings is just raw emotion...she has such an original unique voice.... anyways what album was this off of....and how can i get it....
@txeire Back in the 1970's when I was in the Navy, I purchased this LP and listened. It was the beggining of Fleetwood Mac before Mick Fleetwood. Hence the name. I loved this LP and the music of Stevie and Lyndsey before Mick. Hell he's only a drummer.
@mchllemay I hear ya. Fleetwood Mac was pretty good before Buckingham and Nicks joined. They had Christine McVie, Peter Green, Bob Welch and others at one time or another. Fleetwood Mac's Bare Trees album is extremely good. I think you'd like it.
@txeire lol,I 'discovered' B/N a while after the white album of F.M.'s was released:) Happen to hear this son on the radio one day & said, "Oh, must be a 'new one' by F.M."? WRONG, haha. A friend of mine was like, you 'dork', that's B/N. I said, "Who"?? Yeah, B/N had some really great stuff but it's a shame that it seemed like nobody ever heard of them until after joining F.M. The B/N cover of their most widely known album is just awesome! Love the pic. Stevie said it 'embarassed' here:)
I found the Buckingham Nicks record in great condition at an old, tiny flea market- too bad I don't have a record player... otherwise, I could listen to this whole album forever. <3
I love how Stevie often wove her song lyrics together. Long distance Winner is a line from her beautiful song called Fireflies that was on the fantastic Fleetwood Mac Live album
I WISH THEY WOULD RELEASE THIS ALBUM ON CD!!!!! Had this on tape (found it at Goodwill) and wore it out :). Could listen to this everyday for years and never get tired of hearing it. Love their harmony together...one of a kind! This song could be released today and still sound fresh and relevant.
