SBS is terrible, but I can honestly see how it could happen. When you have done everything possible for a baby: changed the diaper, fed it, cuddled it, made sure it didn't have a stomach ache, fever. etc. and it still won't stop crying. That ear piercing scream that is so loud and irritating, that you will do anything to make it stop.

I am not saying it is right, but if you put a person who doesn't have the patience or maturity to deal with a difficult baby, it can happen.

the thing is.. babies are more delicate than they look. because they have tiny internal organs and arteries and things.. and their bones are mostly cartilige, and also their brain is very soft so that means shaking them disturb the blood flow for the brain and makes it screw up, and internal bleeding because their veins/artery broke.

I became close to a couple who were in my partners training unit, she dropped out and had a baby the same week as me. But when we went to their graduation we left the babies in care of a babysitter, apparently her baby cried a lot and got to re babysitter who shook him :'(

My baby was left untouched literally the babysitter ran and left them. We got home soon after though.
