@plasenciapedro I dare say it would be some sort of adhesive such as belt grip. From the looks of things, they were having traction issues which wouldn't surprise me seeing as Beetle's are so light which would also be why they had guys standing on the running boards

@torino390 Theres usually a direct correlation between the speed of the engine and the cooling, i.e. the higher the rpm the faster the fan is spinning creating more cooling. i would imagine though if the engine was at high rpm for a long time then there would be a cooling issue.

Yes, your right, weight has everything to do with the 1/4 mile but has NOTHING to do with dertermining RWHP. It doesnt matter if your car weighs in at 1,000lbs or if its 5,000lbs, the RWHP is going to be the same no matter its weight. Only the drivetrain is the factor in determining RWHP. Next time, try reading more then the last line of a post before jumping to reply.

I read the guys reply you quoted and i really dont know where your reply to his is coming from. He never mentioned anything about how fast the car is, just made fun of the HP. You need to be careful how you word replies in the future. For those who dont know, your reply is sort of saying that weight is used to determine the difference between flywheel and rear wheel HP. The only factor in determing this is the drivetrain. Weight has nothing to do with it.

@hedw30 Call the people at Gene Berg,you can google them to get the phone number.Many years ago i had a 69 Kharman Ghia with a Porsche 912 engine and a Webster 5 speed gearbox.Webster has gone out of bizz a long time ago but there are companys out there that can help you and decide what gear ratio you need depending on what type of engine you have built and what you are going to use it for.
