I disagree with that. If Thomas was special, he wouldn't have his first starting year when he was about 30 years old. Price is 21 now, and has the #1 job for the Habs. You could consider last year his first year as a starter b.c of the games he played towards the end of the season, and in the playoffs. I think Lundqvist is better than both of them. His stats arent good now, but Lundqvist doesn't have good defense. If Lundqvist had the same defense Thomas or Price has, his stats would be on top.
the thing with the defense isn't true. thomas faces 30 - 40 shots and let's in 1 goal. 30 shots are 30 shots. lundqvist and price are both great, but not as good as thomas. they don't make such great saves and thomas is also more reliable and constantly has good results (opposite to price and lundqvist). thomas has the abillity to win games, which price hasn't and lundqvist also isn't showing in the last games.
thats true, but they have different styles of playing. idk much about price, but Thomas is a scrambler. After the first save, if he has to make another one, he'll flop around to make the save. Which is good for the kind of defense that he has, and has been getting consistantly. Lundqvist on the other hand will make the more 'controlled' saves, where he isn't flopping around after the 1st save. The Rangers defense can support Lundqvist style, but have as of late. His stats show for it
Yeaa Lundqvist is much better. Its hard to compare Thomas to Price. Thomas played his heart out to get to where he is and is showing his talent when he is thirty. Price showed his talent young and had the starting postion throwin on him. Montreal did the same thing when Huet played good as Therdore's back up they threw him into the spot and look what they did they chucked him out when Price came along I think Price will do MUCH better when he older and on another team. Well Montreal has the better defense on paper but Boston's defense is playing muuch better then Montreal! Plus if you look at all those saves most of them are when the defense is beaten and Thomas saves their ass!

I am a Toronto fan so hate Montreal more but Price>Thomas. Thomas just has a way better defense infront of him.

yeah this year but what about in the past? He has been on some pretty bad boston teams and put up great numbers? And Boston's D has been banged up all year..not sure how you make that statement. Price is younger and might be a top goalie a lot longer but this season thomas is arguably the best goalie in the league...price should not even be at the all star game this year

I disagree with that. If Thomas was special, he wouldn't have his first starting year when he was about 30 years old. Price is 21 now, and has the #1 job for the Habs. You could consider last year his first year as a starter b.c of the games he played towards the end of the season, and in the playoffs. I think Lundqvist is better than both of them. His stats arent good now, but Lundqvist doesn't have good defense. If Lundqvist had the same defense Thomas or Price has, his stats would be on top.

the thing with the defense isn't true. thomas faces 30 - 40 shots and let's in 1 goal. 30 shots are 30 shots. lundqvist and price are both great, but not as good as thomas. they don't make such great saves and thomas is also more reliable and constantly has good results (opposite to price and lundqvist). thomas has the abillity to win games, which price hasn't and lundqvist also isn't showing in the last games.

thats true, but they have different styles of playing. idk much about price, but Thomas is a scrambler. After the first save, if he has to make another one, he'll flop around to make the save. Which is good for the kind of defense that he has, and has been getting consistantly. Lundqvist on the other hand will make the more 'controlled' saves, where he isn't flopping around after the 1st save. The Rangers defense can support Lundqvist style, but have as of late. His stats show for it

Yeaa Lundqvist is much better. Its hard to compare Thomas to Price. Thomas played his heart out to get to where he is and is showing his talent when he is thirty. Price showed his talent young and had the starting postion throwin on him. Montreal did the same thing when Huet played good as Therdore's back up they threw him into the spot and look what they did they chucked him out when Price came along I think Price will do MUCH better when he older and on another team. Haha, maybe Boston even?

he didnt get his first starting year because they never really gave him a chance while dafoe and raycroft were around. Its happening right now too with tuka rask. He was playing the minors but becuz fernandez got hurt he got a call up and posted a shutout yesterday

rask is a prospect that's a bit different than thomas who really has been around.. fyi thomas actually won the urpo ylonen trophy in finland and the guy who got it after thomas was none other than miikka kiprusoff.. thomas has really been around..

Well Montreal has the better defense on paper but Boston's defense is playing muuch better then Montreal! Plus if you look at all those saves most of them are when the defense is beaten and Thomas saves their ass!

'when you look at those saves' Dude those were pure luck. Well it took a little skill but he was just guessing and got it right. Price doesn't get caught out as much so is a better positional goalie.

as a goalie i can assure you those saves arent pure luck. yeah he has to be in the right position but it takes a massive amount of dexterity and athleticism to even have an opportunity to make those saves possible
