The biggest case of sell-out would probably have to be Metallica, a great thrash/speed metal band of the 80's, all of the sudden becomes this horrid, lame pop-rockish band that they are today.

That just tells what a kickass band they are, though I lost track of their work a few years ago. It takes a lot of freaking talent to make fast heart shocks like Path or Struggle, but this one and Coma or Hope. Call them calm or whatever. To shift from one mode of playing to another like this...
