I'm sure people on their high horses will scold these soldiers for unethical behavior, but unless they have experienced the horrors of war they should shut the fuck up. The average WWII South Pacific soldier faced roughly 40 days of combat over 4 years, the average Vietnam soldier faced 240 days of combat in 1 year. So yeah, maybe in between seeing, smelling, touching, and flirting with death they wanna escape by getting a little high, until they gotta do it all over again. How dare they, right?
thats probably why so many of our soldiers died in nam because everyone was so stoned that they couldent tell the difference between a charlie and a us soldier
@masterchief3100 Yeeeeahhhhh...I'm not so sure about that. In fact, suggesting that every death of a young man in Vietnam was due to them being stoned is probably one of the more insensitive and disrespectful things i've heard in a while. I know you were probably joking, but i wouldn't recommend saying that shit anywhere besides behind a screen. Life ain't a Halo game, in war people die.
@Callmarcus77 oh i LOVE it when people just asume my name is related to halo. no its inclining to the rank in the us navy with just a number i randomly picked out. and yes i can see why some of them used the drug because they were drafted when they didnt want to so they needed something for them to relieve stress but you also have to know that charlies were pretty sneeky and they constantly attacked us bases so the possibility of some of them being stoned is still out there
i wanted to be apart of that, all of that, every aspect of getting stoned, killing women and children, and burning down villages. FUCK! to bad now alls i can do is fight terrorist who will actually shoot back,,, shit sucks

War creates chaos, destruction and pain for both sides.
But of course none of you puppets want to wake up and understand that. All you see is the uniforms, weapons.

Keep in mind most of these guys were drafted. They weren't there voluntarily so of course they aren't going to give a shit about the war.

the last statement this war
is the realest aspect of disillusionment I have ever seen from a soldier in combat. It sums up the Vietnam war.

@xykater Is that why there was more US servicemen killed in Nam? over 58,000! Not attacking the service people in Iraq. Just your statement.

"Lemme borrow that bowl for a minute."
That's the sweetest use for a Remington shotgun I've ever seen.

the real story of drugs in Vietnam was the use of Heroin and Opium by a huge numbers of soldiers who brought their habits back to the states.
