great, very helpful! I'm currently lookin for a microphone to do foley work with but i'm not sure which type to buy, would it be a directional condensor mic ?

@tomes55moon Maybe you should look at the Rode video mic. It's a consumer mike with great sound.

For the walking sounds I think is better to wear the shoes and walk in the same place with different floor samples. This way it won't sound so face...the way he was doing it seems more for the radio days. Still, practice remember the movie Blow out, travolta records everything from real sound. You do the same. Create your own library. Good luck.

Props sounded fine but you never want to walk the feet this way, shoes have to be walked to get the WEIGHT otherwise it sounds like clip clop clip clop clip clop... I wouldn't give you my Foley to walk for sure.
