It is not a snare stick throw, I have been playing for about 13 years and was obsessed with Morgan for about 4, its a simple technique of using the bounce of the snare (all depends on how you snare is tuned), use the recoil of the drum and the momentum of your down-stroke, its more like "whipping" the stick.
