Thanks! Glad you liked it. We did have a bit of fake blood with us on the day, but we figured something with 'Hanging' in the title (A title that was randomly picked out of a hat at the start of the challenge), wasn't going to be very gory!
Reporters don't hold their purses while shooting stand-up's. And they usually have a handheld mic with flags. And you could've at least made some cheap news graphics in Photoshop for the frame of the "live feed" shot. I won't lie, it's pretty bad overall and the crappy soundtrack doesn't help. But at least you're trying.
We simply didn't have a handheld mic. Bare in mind this was all made within 48hrs as part of a challenge: we did with what we had which wasn't much.
I don't have Photoshop, only Final Cut Pro and I'm a beginner with it.
I'm no musician so I quickly put together royalty free loops in Garageband which I had barely opened prior to that. As for news graphics, with a deadline fast approaching, at 6am after a sleepless night, I had no time to experiment.
P.S.: Note it's a 'B' Movie, Ed Wood style; it was supposed to look crappy. And believe me, compared to what the other teams made that week-end (28 in total), our film is among the best and it's not just me saying it!
Well I appreciate the respectable response in lieu of my less than courteous remarks. While I won't say I couldn't do better (as video production is my profession), I do commend your efforts. Nice job.
I welcome constructive critics and thank you for your comments. In return, I'm happy to provide more informations about the shoot to temper them. ;)
Comedian and old-timey Will Rogers once say: There are three kinds of men. The ones that learn by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence. The best learning curve combines all 3 methods, and one cannot learn to swim without eventually taking a dive.
Are all films really made from scratch? It is arguable, I would say, for remakes, sequels, adaptations of books or graphic novels, not to forget documentaries... depending on your definition.
It could say 'made entirely within 48 hours' but I felt 'made from scratch' would have more impact - sound more catchy - and potentially attract more viewers.
Thanks again for your comment. When you think the music was put together in GarageBand in the last 2 hours of editing!...
It's Funny! And I did watch the full 3 mins clip! Not enough blood, but i guess it's not the idea? Cya X

OK, I agree, the purse was clearly a mistake.

My next attempts will be much more prepared.
