@posada432 Yeah, people the world over are just so enchanted with that Northeastern charm....not to mention the fine cuisine and friendliness of the people.
@markheithaus Thanks for the polite request. It is likely to be my next, or the one after, perhaps. Regrettably, I think there will be no December video because I don't have the time.
@TheMrSmissen since a day or 5 your last statement is now invalid xD we finally have a goverment xD BUT! I agree i want to see this guy doing the Belgian anthem xD
OH MY GOD STUPID THIS IS THE STUPIDEST NATIONAL ANTHEM IN THE WHOLE WIDE HISTORICAL WORLD AND THE PARODY OF IT OOOOOOOOOOOOOH I DONT KNOW BUT I HATE IT WHEN THE SOUTHERN STATES LEAVES THE UNITED STATES GO AHEAD AND MAKE THE SOUTHERN STATES LEAVE AND MAKE IT BE ITS OWN COUNTRY BECAUSE IF THEY EVER LEAVE THE UNITED STATES THAT MEANS NO ONE WILL EVER LIKE THEM ANYMORE BECAUSE IM SERIOUS THIS TIME ITS GETTING ON MY NERVES THUMBS UP FOR ABRAHAM LINCOLN AND THUMBS DOWN FOR JOHN WILKES BOOTH
@beaglerocks2 The south had every right to secede. Nobody hates them for what they did 150 years ago. Get some culture, and a life while you're at it.
These videos are ekstremely fun! (I especially like the joke concerning famous japanese music.)
I was surprised that my nations anthem (Denmark) was mostly about war - nice that the picture wasn't about boozed up youth, gays and open sandwishes, for a change:-)
@Magicmichael66 this should be understandable as the fish is one of the symbols of jesus christ, and dixie, also known as the bible belt, is so deeply religious and conservative there are a lot of evangelical congregations active there.
Good job and bless you for doing one for my beloved Dixie....though I could have given you some pointers. Barbecue and College football really needed to be included as well as pickup trucks and love of the military. At least you included fried chicken, guns, Jesus and Nascar. :^)
@hungarygator I agree that it's a border state. But I'm from right next to Missouri and I've never heard a single Missourian call himself/herself a Southerner, so I disagree with that.
@yurismir1 Hmm. I lived for several years in Arkansas about 5 miles from the Missouri border and used to go there pretty regularly because Missouri was wise enough to sell booze on Sunday :^). I've heard plenty of them describe themselves as Southerners. Harry Truman was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans for example. Like most border states, Southern Missouri is very Southern. St. Louis and Kansas City not so much...
@hungarygator The reason they describe themselves as Southerners is because they're from the far South of Missouri near the border with Arkansas. I'm from very close to where Mark Twain grew up and no one in that area says they're Southern. They classify themselves as Midwestern if anything (like me). Missouri is considered part of the Midwest. You can look that up if you don't believe me.
@yurismir1 Missouri is a border state....like Kentucky, like Maryland. There is definitely some overlap though today I would agree with you that more consider themselves Midwestern. Back then? I think it leaned more heavily to the South but it has always been a border state. I'm willing to count Missourians, Oklahomans, Kentuckians and Marylanders (not Worst Virginia though).
@magnalucian8 Dixieland is a more interesting song, and it was the unofficial anthem of the CSA, so I can understand why ThDubya would parody this instead. I say he did a good job on it.
I always wonder why the republicans, who freed the slaves and was considered the social progressives back under lincoln have pulled a switcharoo . now democrats are now known as social progressives and republicans are considered the party of old white men.
@powereater Back in the 1960's, when LBJ was President, there was a major political realignment. LBJ pushed for civil rights and voting rights legislation that was mostly supported by Republicans and mostly opposed by Democrats. As a result of this, many of the people who supported the Dems back then, like the Southerners, felt betrayed by the Democratic President, LBJ, and gradually switched over to the Republican side, and conversely, many liberals went over to the Dems.
@xtreme1002003 It was far more than that. The Republicans gradually became the party of limited govt while the Democrats gradually became the party of big (and centralized) govt. The South has always been Jeffersonian and believed in limited government-especially the federal govt. Despite the switch which started in the 30's it still took the R's a couple generations to become the majority in the South because they had given themselves such a bad name during Reconstruction.
Crazy......but good. @1:10 where the hell is that???? :] Also, just out of curiousity, are planning parodies of GDR or the new/old anthems of South Africa?
Wow I am an American and I never heard of this song. I always just thought "God Save the South" was it's national anthem. But it seems they also had Dixie as an unofficial one.
Did you guys know that Dixie was a song that was liked very much by Lincoln himself?
When a Northern man is home he's always happy, the Northeast is great, the south is crappy...
