He was - you know when pop idol ended. He doesn't do this type of singing anymore, he sings in the West end now so he's not releasing any new songs so that's why he's not famous much more.

It's the same with Gareth - he switched to classical music.

Of course he still sings his songs in the style he thinks best suits them - pop,jazz,acoustic, pop/rock or something new.

He was writing and recording new songs for his 3rd album in LA,late 2007,when he was offered the role of Rhett Butler. He couldn't refuse. He has a great bass baritone under his pop voice and musical theatre lets him really use his power and range and also do more acting. Musically, nothing has changed. Darius is still a singer/songwriter crafting his next album his way!
