  • BRAVO!

  • Bravo fine sir. That brought back some fine memories. Wow, that was an incredible rendition.

  • Br?

  • This is unquestionably the best "Junk" cover on YouTube. You really are a great guitar player and I would give anything to be able to play half as good as you. I'm just learning how to play and it's a slow yet rewarding process.

  • ITS BEATIFUL COVER!!!

  • Your ears are about 1000 times better than the average youtube covers uploader

  • Really really good!

You should play more of those songs, I mean solo carrer of each of them!!

I guess some Harrison's songs would be great!!

  • Pure genius. I love the extra bass notes (between 21-29 seconds) the second time round. That's the sort of stuff I live for. I wish Paul would have done more of these songs instead of the ''Silly love song'' stuff. Another one I like from that album is ''That would be something''. Great non-commercial music. Watching you play it is such a treat. Many, many thanks.

  • Did you used a Blur fx in this video? :P

this is the best version I've heard.

  • @Missurunha

No. Back then I just didn't know how to focus my camera. thanks.

  • BUENA TIO!!!! SOY UN BEATLE Y TU COVERS ME SONO BIEN

  • Beautiful

  • Great job! I've been wanting to sing to this for a long time and finally did it tonight. I tried to do a video reply but don't know if it worked. Anyway, thanks for posting this I had fun singing with it.

  • @ainchent1

hi, thanks. i didn't get the video response in my approval inbox. try again.

  • @troubleclef I tried again. It said the request was successful. We'll see what happens!

  • Bravo. I'm entranced by this, and in awe of your skill.

  • An incredible single guitar version of a wonderful original melody. Congratulations! I hope PM gets a chance to listen to this.

  • Anyone who dismisses Paul McCartney as a lightweight really should have a reconstructed opinion after viewing this video. McCartney has written some of the world's most beautiful tunes and you my friend, inspire an entirely new appreciation for this music.

  • dang your guitar sounds so good. sounds alot like the recording is it nylon or steel looks like steel but i'm not really sure

  • You actualy play better then orginal song only what is missing the higher verse if YOU know what i mean great arrangment

  • You actually play this much better then original great sound and arrangment

  • I was wondering if there was any chance you had the tabs?

  • please please the tabs D: (i'm mexican .. i'm not speak english D: )

  • Wow-- just lovely. I always thought this felt a little like that Erik Satie piece-- Trois Gymnopedes, is that it? But your playing is soooo-- Immersing? Like swimming in a warm pool in the moonlight. Really touching. Thanks.

  • Super Great job. I've been lovin this song for a long time and used to play it when I was younger but forgot. Thanks for working it out!

  • I not sure if I should bash my guitar on the ground or hold it and just do my best...one question, how long have you been playing? I'm guessing from before you were born. Thanks

  • @montyterry

    35+ years (started when i was 14)

  • @montyterry just do your best dude. =)

  • nice playing

I am about to buy a classical guitar that has a cedar top and I think a rosewood body for about $200. It plays real nice but was wondering if you knew if a Cedar or a Spruce top is better? I saw where you can get it with one or the other. I will have to go back to The Guitar Center to look at it again but I think it is a Yamaha.

  • @Berkner80

A Yamaha around that price range will be a nice guitar for starting out. Not really sure about which woods will be better. best bet is to try both and go with what you like! cheers.

  • @troubleclef thanks, I'll check it out again this weekend

  • Nice job, thanks for the video:)

    sunaj

  • @sunaJH

    thanks for all the comments

  • Easy peasy for troubleclef but beautiful all the same there man....

  • Beautiful. I wonder if sheet music exists for that very pretty arrangement.

  • Very nice!

  • wow this is really well done, better than the original! lovvve it!

  • Aww, c'mon that's insult to the composer!

This would not exist if not FOR the original..get a grip there..

  • superb!!!!!

  • this is the best version I've heard. Paul should have thought to use the nylons.

  • @mrkystrky He made an instrumental version of this song called 'Singalong Junk' using a piano. It was as great as this version.

  • Very beautifully played. *****

  • Buy, buy says the sign in the shop window-

Why, why says the junk in the yard.

Well done sir. This and your version of You Never Give Me Your Money give me the chills.

  • that's a great lyric, eh?

    thanks, buddy

  • I'm a huge beatles fan and you play it welll

    hail

  • Got me into fingerstyle guitar, after countless hours of practice this is still my favorite piece performed by you.

    5/5

  • Just perfect! You're the best!

  • I love your sentimental play of "Junk".

It makes me think lots of things.

I'm just beginner at guitar playing.

If you don't mind, could you send me the musical note for guitar playing?

    Your play is the best!!!

  • i don't have anything written down. thanks

  • wow ..very nicely done!!! i haven't played my guitar in a long time and now i'm gonna have to start playing again.. this music reminds me of old times.. i've seen different versions of this on youbtube and this is by far the best one i've seen.. im a hard-core beatle fan.. if you have your music recorded on a cd, i'll buy them..

  • thanks. no cd's yet. i've recently been relearning this one and doing some things better. and fixing the structural parts that i did "wrong" here.

  • Treble Clef*

  • Realemente grandioso muy bien!

  • that's the way it should be done-great job!

  • Wow...I would love to have the talent to play this beautiful piece. Could you msg me with the skills please? lol

  • thanks! I appreciate it.

  • 2UISEE..... If McCartney couldn't play this chord structure.... then how the hell did end up on his solo album? Don't knock McC.... I think he has a little more talent than you think!

... and "troubleclef"... astounding as usual. I play guitar (well, I try). I just mastered "Julia". Took me a couple of weeks to get just this one style of Travis Picking down, but I think I've nailed it. So I decided to try and attempt "Singalong Junk"

(sigh) Yep... this one's gonna take a little longer!;)

  • do you have the tabs for this? it's great

  • Great! - would you consider posting a tutorial on how to play this???

  • beautiful job! great guitar too! You persuaded me not to post this song on baritone uke. The bass line s killed it for me

  • Beautiful amigo !!!!

  • Great..thanx man, this is my tutoral vid from now on!

  • BRAVO

  • ojouzu good!

  • Very well played. I like how you play the bass notes as well. Something not often seen with this song.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • absolutely beautiful. these are that sort of moments which makes you grateful for all the small things in life... like a healthy ear.

  • Just made my day

  • thanks so much for that

  • wow- very nice- I think your solo arangement is the nicest I've ever heard- do you have a tab?...if not, I hope you do a lesson video for this song- just beautiful-

  • maybe, I´m amazed.....

  • I think I´m amazed

  • ah, but he did! that's a taylor ns54-ce. see video details. thanks again

  • Very, very gentle!! Nice!! What is the tuning you used, please??????

  • thanks, standard

  • I'm finding that I need a daily dose of this song each day (three days in a row now). Nicely done, and I'm going to have to keep revisiting this song to truly learn how to play this. Absolutely excellent.

  • thanks!

  • omg you're the best. A request if possible. I think you would totally do justice to either "Dear Prudence" or "Mother Nature's Son". either would be great, both would be wonderful, Cheers.

  • Awesome!

  • Ram On Man

  • :D thanks

  • fabulous!

  • Actually, yeah i have worked out a version of that song that would work well, i think. would need to perfect the jazz bass section (where he's singing 'heart of the country where the holy people go') but if i sat down and figured it out it would make a great little instrumental. thanks.

  • Your playing is just phenomenal.... Very natural and full of expression.

I hope you play out in public. You are too good.

  • thanks!

  • GENIUS!

  • nice one mate, really enjoyed that....

  • your music is so evocative...makes me want to sit up all night...

how long did you take to reach where you are now? such lovely covers!

    any originals?

  • thanks. i've been playing for 33 years...well, not continuously. :D

i do have a playlist of three short originals. check my channel.

    cheers

  • Those 33 years were well worth it!

  • very moving...you make that guitar come alive!!

  • so nicely done -

thank you for that great rendition

    all the best for 08

  • thanks. you too.

  • Motor cars, handlebars, bicycles for 2......

  • Nice TC. Happy Hogmany from a fan in Edinburgh, Scotland. I play Junk, but not quite up to your standard. I hope to get the bass notes in, for it just adds so much to this beautiful piece. Have a happy 2008.

  • thanks. and Happy New Year to you too

  • Happy Hogmany from a fan in Edinburgh Scotland. I aspire to play Junk that good one day sir, but for now I doff my cap to you and wish you a great New Year.

  • So beautiful! Your phrasing and ornaments are just right. Is your style of playing referred to as finger style? And where in L.A. could I find a teacher that could show me how I could play like you do? You're a mighty fine guitar player.

  • Not sure about where in LA, but yes any fingerstyle teacher can teach you how to play in this style. cheers.

  • I need an album from your music... it's great!!!! Bravo

  • nice licks dude.Good Job!

  • Just lovely. This song reminds me of a beautiful song that Chet Atkins wrote years ago, called 'Waltz For The Lonely'.

If you take requests, I'd really enjoy hearing your take on that one sometime. I wouldn't be surprised if you already know it.

  • thanks. I don't know it actually. I will have to look for it. cheers. thanks for watching.

  • beautiful

  • Over the years I have gotten so sick of speed technicians who pump the vlume and gain and just see how fast they can run scales and call it music. Thank you for your talent and reminding us of a time when real musicians dominated the air waves - timeless.

  • thanks!

  • I agree.

    =)

  • Troubleclef .. HAHa like the name . thanks for posting this gem . savtofav

  • have to said ... great !!!!!!! is terrific !!! congratulations , you get an excellent vertion of this one , I wish Pual could heard it some time

  • Great..great..Thanks.

  • best ever.

  • thanks. 'singalong junk'. i was 10 or so when the album came out. my brother had it. he would listen to it early in the morning when i was still half asleep in bed so i still think of it as a great morning sound kind of record.

  • good job! thenk you ... i will try it (its difficult for me in guitar!!!)

    blessings

  • the words are motor cars, handle bars, bicycles for two, broken hearted jubilee

  • absolutely beautiful..i have a guitar and have never played it. this makes me want to learn to play.

  • Is there anyway you could show how to play this song?

It's one of my favorites on the guitar.

  • Actually its "broken hearted jubilee". But hell, I thought it was "broken hearted jew believe" the first time I heard it, so dont feel bad. The version from the Anthology 3 is worth checking out if you havent yet...its even more mellow than the officially recorded version...if thats possible.

  • good mishear. My personal favorite comes from The Police' "Every breath you take" where I thought the line "...how my poor heart aches" was "...I'm a pool hall ace" for many years.

  • What a relief. I'm not the only person to mishear lyrics. I spent most of my childhood wondering who Richard Sands was. Har-de-har

  • Troublechief, you're simply awesome! I must confess that is inspiring me to improve my playing skills.

    Fantastic McCartney on this song!

  • I'd like to see ya play Jenny Wren as well. I think you'd do the song it's justice.

  • It's sooo beautiful!!! I hope you could also play Jenny Wren.

  • Wow... You made me cry. So beautiful

  • real nice chords man.i do a simpler version my self..but some of your chords sound better, you do your guitar justice in deed!!

  • fark... hope im that good wen im ur age. Inspiring.

  • That's beautiful!

  • are you sure? in any case, there's only so much you can do without overdubs or multiple players.

  • When may we expect your interpretation of

Revolution #9 to be posted? With what I've heard you do so far, I think you could do it! Bravo!

  • well..you wouldn't achieve the same results..if i follow your drift. i want a low dflat on the first strike of the chord. yours would have the f and so 1st inversion. then i assume you play a low dflat on the upbeat between beats two and three, but i gotta have it one! lol. i prefer the contrast i get by making the first 'statement' just have the falling bass notes on 4 and the 2nd time have the bass articulated differently

  • I haven't heard this song played this well since the bonus track from Paul McCartney's Unplugged CD.

    You sir, need a contract.

  • thank you, mr mcCartnee :)

  • thank you, now i can play it! you are better than tabs! :)

  • Wow! Incredible! You are the first person who actually plays it that I have heard where it sounds right. Are you using standard tuning?

  • I'm going to have to study this to pick it up!

I just spoke to Paul about this song last Monday in NYC at the signing, telling him I thought it was an environmental song (think of the chorus lyrics). He raised his eyebrows and said it was going to be sung by the chorus at Carnegie the next night (and it was).

  • absolutely.

"'buy!' says the sign in the shop window,

'why?' says the junk in the yard".

    very good point.

  • I hope he plays it in concert, as I suggested.

Do you have tab for this?

  • muy bueno amigo

  • thanks!

  • muy muy bien!

buenisimo los tiempos y ese solo agrgado al final!

  • gracias!

  • I've watched that 10 times and it keeps getting better. So well done!

  • thanks!

  • Definitely NOT junk! Inspiring performance.

  • Hey, The Junk Singalong I'm Guessing.. Give The Vocals A Poke... What's The Worst That Could Happen??? GREAT Guitar Work.. Probably The Closest Thing to The Original Possible... You Should Put Some More Songs from Paul's Self Titled Up... PEACE

  • dammn...very nice...mccartney is a fucking genious..."bass player" huh ?

  • te salió excelente amigo

  • Bravo!

  • AWESOME!!! I have tried to play that tune FOREVER!! TAB TAB TAB Please! You played superb. What a gem. What a performance. BRAVO!

  • yes please, tab it , then i'll be your fan nº1.. what a motivation haha... if u do it in guitarpro better!, you'll do a contribution to mankind!!

  • did you tab that yourself.. i've looked & havent found one good enough... great tune!!

  • great!!!!!

  • thanks

  • you have msn messenger??? i'm from brazil

raphaelbertozzi@msn.com << my msn messenger.... you is a great music man

  • 'brigado

  • Very nice Sing Along Junk!!!! I play it too on the guitar. I must say you play it better than me and ... Paul !( yes, you do! ) Please, add your "Blackbird", "Mother Nature's son", and "I will". You're gonna have to sing for those, though !

  • oh, you don't want to hear me singing (lol)!

  • LOVELY
