  • But, to play a fair game, i have to addmit that normaly houses in germany where build the massive way, using concrete, steel and stone, and not like most houses in the U.S. by wood and plastics. So normaly we don't have to worry about that the building collaps over our heads, while we fight the fire from the inside.

By the way, can anyone explain me, why houses in America where build this cheap an unsave? Is there now law or sth. which regulates how safe a house has to be?

  • I appreciate to see these FFs doing der job! One of the rare videos, in which the first thing they do, when they come on scene, is fighting the fire and not smashing all the windows and jumping around on the roof, for cutting holes in (even if i love to see them using our german finest chainsaws made by Stihl ;-) ). This what i saw here is like the way, we in germany fight a housefire, and i think we do our job successfulness and don't have to hide us behind other FFs in the world.

  • Make SURE the fire doesn't reach that dangerous antifreeze...

  • Yes i agree they doing a great job a attack from in the inside with that much fire showing well done guys

  • hmmm 10 minute video in that time i saw one house on fire at least 8 firefighters one huge fire truck with extended ladder. At first it seems to be only one hose going and two smashin out the windows? just a thought is to why with the size of the truck was there not 3 or four hoses running would the fire not be put out quicker?one fighter inside and two going outside would be better just curious no offence intended

  • @himarling44

You obviously haven't been in a fire cause the first 5 seconds shows that on the inside the whole house was rolling. That's no unburnt side to protect. Outside walls don't count as a save.

  • @himdarling44

You said C side of the building. Hahaha.

Get your nose out of that book and look at what's happening in front of you face. You'll learn more that way.

  • What was/is that yellow radio? Brand and model if anyone knows

  • How in the world could anyone question how Detroit firefighters attack a house fire these guys are the most experienced on this planet up to 10 fires a night. Most depts. wouldnt have even considered doing an interior attack. detroit firefighters are top shelf and everyone else is looking up at them

  • @duffman68 Why the hell does Detroit have so many fires?

  • @Jemalacane because our citty refuses to take them houses down that nobody wants to people burn them cause their bored out of their minds

  • Get rid of the Africans and suddenly no more fires, simple as that.

  • How could you "not: show the first units in action upon arrival? I agree too many cuts in the wrong place.

  • was someone living in that house or no?

  • We Southern Firefighters hit it on all fronts inside and out, I did not see a hoseline around the back of that structure hitting the roof.

  • @mikefox46 We southern firefighters also don't like to push fire into parts of the house that are not on fire. If there was a hose on the C side hitting the roof it would push the fire directly back into the house.

  • Cooki'n that crack and burning that shack.

  • Why was this video not shown in it's entirety. This video has way to many cuts in it. Never fail to show our response and how we do our jobs

  • gents i removed that comment that i had up......my apologies to the brothers in detroit......sometimes we just got to be alot more careful.....todays fires burn hotter and quicker...pvc,plastics accelerants, cheap building materials. just want the everybody to go home. on this job there is nothing worth saving, total loss,no exposure issues,as long as occupants are accounted...then surround and drown on this one...then mop up the hot spots from the inside....be safe

  • Corbett & What?

No more details? Thats was a heavy fire..

  • eng55ine are you on the job in Detroit

  • yes I'm on the best department in the world...we are the most aggresive in the art of interior firefighting..... Philadelphia where it all started

  • I wasnt there. But I look at it this way. The house looked pretty stable. the fire was in the back, through the roof whatever. But It looks to me that it was perfectly fine to go into. Every fire is dangerous, if it was completely involved then I could see letting it go, but for god sakes were firefighters. We need to put the fire out. Good job guys. Your keeping the tradition of aggressive firefighting alive. unfortunently its a dying art. Good Job!

  • please dont b offended... im all for aggressiveness.... but one thing i learned dont trust the truss....not trying to offend detroit.. those guys out there r no joke and they are good at wat they do....surround and drown on this one....knock it down then go in for the hotspots....got to b careful wit new truss construction.

  • @eng55ine : The vast majority of homes in Detroit are NOT lightweight truss, they're old school and built prior to 1940s.

  • Yup, you were there alright! ...and I wasn't :-(
