This really made me appreciate the quality of my VXT - whenever I buy anything, I always immediately start thinking about how I can modify it and make it better... but now, after getting a better idea of the process that went into its production, I'm afraid that I might ruin its pristine nature if I even look at it the wrong way.

Funny I stumbled upon this vid. I worked on one of these VXTs today. The neck was a mess. It had a hump in the first 7 frets then a dip to the 12th and normal roll-off on the fret extension. The t-rod was ineffective at adjusting in the proper relief, and some of the frets were lifting. GC "threw this in" when my customer bought a Gib LP and Marshall hd & cab. The VXT was brand new and never played well.... until today! Took me a few hours, but my customer loved the new set-up. What a PITA!

This guitar is definitely NOT out of tune, but the ound quality of the video is not the best, which probably some of you made think the guitar was out of tune.

Come on guys think logical - do you really think Ovation makes a promo video using a guitar out of tune?

it is in f*****g tune. didnt you people listen to him play it clean? the distortion makes it sound out of tune. i have been playing guitar for five years and know what i am talking about.

Hearing a correct tuning is always

compromised by the effects of distortion.

It's not neccesarily out of tune..

This salesman is a dink. At least TUNE the damn guitar. Have some basic professionalism, man! And while no doubt this is a nice guitar with great features, Ovation guitars are the dorkiest looking guitars of all. Lose the orthopedic body shape and that stoopid headstock already! Sheesh!

I was lucky enough to see Ovation/Hamer New Hartford Plant during an open house. The attention to detail is amazing. Its not being over estimated here. The n o production line just luithiers making guitars.
