i was at this game and my brother played football with him at Valparasio high school i have a million autographs anyone wants one lol... i got hats gloves bats and a boxing glove by zibikowski when he brought him over and same with trevor laws
Just let the football roll off your chest. Who knows Samardzija might care for baseball because he grew up that way, but their isn't a soul on this earth that would think about coming back to football after the things he was able to do on the football field. Catch after Catch...Saturday to Saturday, their was always something great that was going to happen. From the first play against PITT..haha I knew that wasn't a fluke of a play.
I was at this game. Definitely the most excited I've ever been in Notre Dame Stadium. The Irish will turn the corner in 2009. The talent is there and the schedule is weak.
Why? He had the ttaent to do either, and choise to go to the MLB and ended up playing for the best regular steason team in the MLB. It'll be interesting to see how he does with an entire season, next year.
I forget the particulars leading up that drive by ND but I THINK UCLA screwed up and basically gave the game away. It was either a penalty or something stupid that UCLA did that gave the Irish that last chance.
Well UCLA needed a first down to win the game (because they could run out most of the remaining clock) and they didn't throw it once and elected to run it up the middle 3 times, basically giving the ball back to ND.
I know! I haven't watched much college football since Quinn and Samardzija left. They were a ridiculous pair and are now making millions in the big leagues. Good luck to them both
What a great play. The team may not be on top but it definitely still has its share of amazing plays. I remember watching this game and just going crazy. It was a great moment.
i was being a volunteer umpire at my wife's company picnic softball game. i had a walkman on that got the nbc tv channel. in mid pitch i ran to home plate and tackled my friend and we went nuts!!!!!!!!!!!
i worked the concession stand by section 11 and 12 at this game, i just stared at the mini tv we had, i remember the last catch and seeing samardjiza run,
next thing i no i see the end zone on the screen and i start celebrating and run out into the stadium, i never saw jeff go into the end zone in person or on tv, i was too excited to watch,
but i went out, saw the PAT, kickoff n last play of the game, and celebrated a great game, i will never forget the atmosphere in that stadium
Towards the end of this game I was thinking about how I would have to go back to school on Monday and listne to everyone give me crap about Notre Dame loosing. When this play happened I went absolutely crazy.

Ya I hear ya. It just looks bizarre. Like seeing highlights of Deion Sanders with the Braves or something.
