  • @RiaLake Pleased to hear...that you'll like this music. The Boswells were the "mothers" of these kind of sisteract! Grtz, Aad

  • They were so pretty. Sad that they've been forgotten.

  • @carolinabasketball21 The Boswell Sisters were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1998. At a ceremony covered by the Pfister Sisters, the Boswells were inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2008. Better late than never! Grtz, Aad

  • Boswell Sisters-Makin` Faces at the Man in the Moon-Brunswick-6170-1931

  • @Westtoledoguy Thanks for the additional information! Grtz, Aad

  • Five big stars for this great Boswell tune! A favorite song of mine but have not heard them sing this one. Thanks for sharing it!

  • Fabulous Jazz interpretation, less stylized than other vocalists at the time, a more natural phrasing and delivery, no wonder they were so popular.

  • @clevblue I agree with you, unmatched talents! Grtz, Aad

  • One of my favorite Boswell Sisters songs. The lyrics are silly and fun. I think Kate Smith recorded this, too. At least she was on one version of the sheet music.

  • I've heard just about every song the Boswells sang, but not this. Hearing more of Martha adds a bit more heft and sass; I wonder if that was intentional or just the placement of the microphone. Anyway, I always enjoy a new discovery from these jazz greats--thank you.

  • If you listen to the Continental Broadcast songs you will hear that Martha tended to take the lead in many songs while Connie sang the solos. This early Brunswick is very similar in composition and Martha takes most of the melody.

  • @hoopjnky That`s the Martha strength, very important indeed! Grtz, Aad

  • this is one of the early numbers where Martha is still very much out in front - excellent!

  • I've enjoyed it very much ! Thank you !

  • You`re welcome!
