I gotta say i love India, one of my heros. but the one thing u didnt really touch on is interludes grains....Its beautiful, and i just love how she incorporates God in her work.....Its about the philosophy that man was made from a grain of sand, and how we are all made from the same grain. Your interpretation of "Ghetto" was a little different than mine bc the lyrics said "if you look at us from outer space we're just the human race", so stop judging. She's saying what you think is just a minority problem or a poverty problem or someone else's trouble - is really YOUR problem because we are one. I feel you when you say that this is one of the best but I think she constantly out do herslef. I must admit though the tracks were a bit different and it took me a while to get used but by the 3rd run through of the album I was hooked! I do have a commentary about "Yellow." I'm not sure if you readers are acquainted with the meaning of different stone colors. When you look at these colors and their meanings it means happiness. I know what FreeMyPeople means; I felt it was a bit overwrought when it came to religion reference and self-help talk. Of all her albums I can't listen to it all the way through; I skip quite a few tracks. Long Goodbye and Pearls are the highlights for me.

The reasons are obvious, she doesn't fit the status quo. If you are not shaking your ass/music is not for the clubs, radio stations like - Hot 97, 105.1, 100.3 FM stations that plays Hip Hop & few R& B will not give you a chance

this is such a lovely record i have been such a huge fan of India since her first record, this is definitely her best to date. My favorite songs are "river rise", "he heals me" and "pearls" and Sade also recorded that song along time ago but her version was really depressing.
