i dated woman out side my race and i have to say i liked it. and i also dated woman inside my race and i liked it to. i really don't know if i will get married to a someone of my race thats up to faith to decide
Sorry in advance. I'm not trying to be mean. But your cousin on my right/your left was getting too emotional and didn't articulate her thoughts well. Cut out the emotion when responding and one can think clearly to convey their thoughts well.
Skin color, gender identity, and culture all do not dictate who a person should be in love with. If god didn't want people to date interracially or interbreed, then he wouldn't have made whites, blacks, pacific islanders, etc have a genetic compatibility. Narrow-minded people don't have any concrete evidence to support their claims. They only show how people can be attached to faulty reasoning and wishful thinking.
This was kind of annoying. That one girl on the right wouldn't stop talking. And she wouldn't breathe and talk slower and more clearly either. The other girl who had a little more sense was hardly allowed a word in edgewise. I'm sorry to be so harsh, but you young people need to do a little more growing up. Jmho.
I have and here are my thoughts. IR relationships aren't as big a deal as people (and I have to say mostly young people) keep making them out to be. Yes some people (the more ignorant ones of all races) will have nothing but negativity to say about it, but most rational and educated people will not. Why? Because where's the evil in love? What's so wrong with two people coming together in spite of the odds to love one another? Nothing.
@IconMatthew1 I appreciate you trying to have an intellectual dialogue on this issue, but it's such a non-issue in this day and age. People have hated and been against IR relationship since before your parents and grandparents were born, but that hasn't stopped love from happening. And it will continue to happen too. My criticism of this particular video was that it was negative and uninformed and I'm sorry to say a bit hackneyed.
@IconMatthew1 None of the points brought forth were anything new. All of them were things that have been talked to death time immemorial. I wish we as Americans would stop harping on this and focus more on what brings us together, y'know? I don't think we need to really care what other people (racist or not) think about us or who we love and who are children are. I'm sorry but as an educated African-American woman I couldn't agree with ANYTHING Kendall said. I just couldn't.
@IconMatthew1 Another thing you bring up is racial purity. I'm not sure if you are aware of this but racial purity is a myth that is mainly perpetrated by the neo nazi movement. Heck, the original Nazi movement put forth this ideology behind racial purity. News flash, there is no such thing as racial purity. It's complete and utter hogwash. Hitler himself wasn't racially "pure". His mother was jewish. Please stop and think about some of the things you're rehashing.
@sarahrain22 I think you are confusing me bringing up the arguments people make with agreeing/promoting them. Trust me, I know there is no such thing as racial purity and in no way do I promote it.
Lastly, you posed a question about African-American women being upset that more African-American men are dating and marrying and seem to prefer women of other races. Rme. I think we as African-American women are past that too. The only ones I still hear complain in my daily life and in the media are the ghetto uneducated women who hold some racist ideologies themselves.
@sarahrain22 Now i have to disagree with you on this, there are plenty of well educated black women I know who have a real resentment towards this. And its more than you may think.
@IconMatthew1 ...And as for Kendall saying that black women need to be more self critical in regards to why men don't like us as much, how offensive and uninspired a response! She's basically agreeing with the most ignorant of black men who would say they don't like a black woman's attitude and use that as a reason to date other races of women. Doesn't she know that not all black women are the same. Doesn't she realize the history of our people?
@IconMatthew1 ...Can't she appreciate the effects of that Willie Lynch letter long ago? And how it is still manifesting itself today? Some black people are so quick to put another black person down that they don't even consider why they're doing it.
Well seeing as how you all are young, let me drop a little bit of knowledge on the subject. Contrary to popular belief black people are not a monolith, neither is any other race of people.
@IconMatthew1 ...As much as you will find more ghetto black people you will find the Huxtables, and the Obamas. Black people from all over the world and varied not only in appearance but in thought, word, deed, and consciousness. So to say that black women need to be more self critical is to assume that the few negative experiences brothers have in America is the case worldwide.
@IconMatthew1 ...Further, how disheartening is that! To assume that people date outside of their race to get away from something rather than just because of the fact they happen to LIKE something else. I don't date non-black men to get away from some perceived stereotype I have of black men. I date white men, asian men, latino men, indian men because I like that MAN! I like something about that PERSON I happen to be dating. To date out of negative reasons shows a very negative mindset.
@sarahrain22 I agree, as I've said in other parts of the interracial video series I think its bad that every time there is an interracial union people assume an agenda/past experiences have led them to that.
racism is taught by the PARENTS! anyone ever thought of that? but racism isnt going to die and america proves that year in year out. racism is played out.
Man why are you blocking the women. your messing up my masturbating to the women. I personally think your gay. Why did'nt you just let the chicks answer. It seems you an attention whore and and wanted to be in the video. You should have bee behind the scenes like holding the camara or something.
gud vid bruh, i hav seen couple of ya otha vidz. tha topic was addressed wit a positive mind state 4rm u n ya cuzos. ya cuzos r sum gud lookin ladies if i was tryna date id holla. wit ya personality n views of certain things u eliminate tha stereotype dat al blk folks r ghetto n uneducated. keep up tha gud work bruh n b ez.
kids get made fun of everyday no matter what race he or she may be. and who's to say that the child will be made fun of. your opinion is based on assumptions not fact.
the funny thing about it is that most people of other races are attracted to the characteristics of other races. Just like its astereotype that all black are aggressive i've been told by many of my white friends that secretly many white people are attracted to that ( not all) but many. Many black people like the passiveness of white people but two strong willed strong minded people will not last together. Just like many of my black female friends say how they'd " f*** da Sh*t" out of a white guy
they were attracted to & would feel financially secure but not physically. We want each other secretly but are scared to say so ... people just be happy do what make you feel good life's too hard and too short. Let go
the one on the left. totally my type.tell her to call me.
i think the issue is most prominent with the african-american race, and the clouded-mindedness of most of it's people [as a race]. lest we forget that we are already a minority population-wise, finding a mate who meets your expectations can be hard. and even harder if these expectations are far too unattainable. but even more important, is attitude. how we deal with things. stereotypically, blacks have bad attitudes. which is true for ..
.. a certain percentage of all blacks. as there is Some truth in stereotypes. but to disregard these typical assumptions entirely, we must address what is true. and face it, most blacks do have bad attitudes, or short tempers, or are just plain aggressive-natured. and when we, as blacks, see this, it's overlooked. however we add it to the list of things we do not wnt in a partner. and wanting too much is never a good thing. but i guess, on-topic, with interracials, the key is to be open-minded.
kids get it either way, its not that being interracial doesn't come with a unique set of challenges, but worrying about how it will affect the kids I think is disingenuous
I would hope so too, but that is also a little unrealistic. Kids go through some stuff, I know I did. But they get out of it in time, and I think have a better perspective for it. When I was younger I was pro black in every way, did a lot of reading both biographies and history, yet I pass for white every day of my life. I found my balance when my cousin talked some shit about how my dad was a traitor for having kids with a white woman.....
... this despite the fact 2 of his 7 or 8 brothers have kids with asian women. so my dad was a traitor, because white was wrong. Needless to say I gained some perspective, I'm not black & I never will be, but I'm not white either. I belong to neither group, and thus I have no allegiance to white or black sides of any argument.
thats the best way to be. I'm pro me, and I'm pro my family, but something so broad as to be pro white or pro black, its too much. I take cases as I see them and I judge them as objectively as I possibly can.
